What's great about it: Good for a child or dorm room
What's not so great: Not for serious audiophiles in any way
The Audacity Software is aptly labeled, because they have audacity releasing it. To be fair, the Crosley Traveler is attractive, sturdy, and functional if you just want to play records. The highest end volume is low, but adequate. Sound quality is good. For dormitories, this is perfect. Prominently lacking is no headphone or RCA jack output. Only USB. And the software! You may find yourself creating new profanity. I'm no plebe; I've designed web sites and had computers since the IBM 128K with DOS. The manual is short, inadequate. No support. Default settings are wrong. You're recommended to record in 16 bit, it's set for 64. You want to record in Stereo, the default is set for Mono. I can't get it to play through hardware speakers. You'll lose your sound monitors for no reason. Settings inexplicably re-set themselves. Title input is tedious. You need to import a 3rd party .dll file to export in MP3 format. Multiple settings must be re-set every time you open the program. Best Buy employees will tell you, if you're digitalizing a vinyl collection, don't get this one. Get the Sony.

This turntable is perfect for me. I'm not into all of the USB features or fancy things but I enjoy my vinyl. The sound quality on this turntable is exceptional. I love the hinges and the lid. It's pefect for my dorm room.
