What's great about it: power
What's not so great: installation
Needed a substantial unit to cool a room surrounded by rooms with no temp control and under an attic with no exhaust. This unit was up to the task and dropped the room temp and humidity quickly and efficiently. The remote and unit controls are well-designed and easy-to-use. The only hard part was the window installation. Because so much of the weight is outside the window, getting it to balance properly is difficult when access to the outside is impossible. This was a 3-person job in my case. 2 people to position and steady the unit, one person to drop the window sash and secure the the center screw to keep everything in place. Overall, a great product.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: efficency of the unit
What's not so great: a little loud but that was to be expected from a window unit
I had to order this unit on line because there were none available due to the end of the season when my central ac went out after a storm. the purchase was easy with the online order form. the unit arrived before the time expected, directly to my home. The unit kept my home cool and much more comfortable and was efficient, easy to install and even came with a remote. It was certainly worth the money and I passed it on to my son when my central ac was replaced by the insurance compnay. It was to cool a 450 square foot area but was able to cool my entire small house which is less than 1000 square feet, with a fan placed to pull the cool air through a hallway. I would highly recommend it!

What's great about it: Energy Star / Remote
What's not so great: Poor draining. Screws and mounts are rusting.
This A/C unit is a lemon. The unit has a poor drain design and water pools over screws, and the bottom of the external fan mount. After about 1-2 weeks of use, there is already a significant amount of rust developing. I can see the rust by going outside and looking down through the vents at the bottom of the unit. Chances are, your unit is doing the same. The rust will eventually eat through the fan mount and the unit will need to be repaired. Terrible design, lack of quality control. Why would you use screws that rust in an area designed to hold water?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I am pretty satisfied with my purchase. I do not have a lot of expetience with it. It runs only for couple days. So far - everything is good.

What's great about it: Nothing. Just your average a/c unit
What's not so great: Required repair prior to first use.
Loud squealing when first started. Turned out to be internal styrofoam insulation rubbing on squirrel cage fan. I disassembled by removing the outer cover, repositioning the foam and securing with heavy duty duct tape. Reassembled and, so far, the unit performs as expected. For someone not capable of making the repair immediately, without waiting for a service technician, this relatively minor defect might have been seen as a serious inconvenience.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Solid unit so far. We've owned it for a couple weeks, so it'll be interesting to see how long it lasts.
We're happy with the AC unit. It was tough to bring ourselves to drop the $250, knowing that it would also jack up our electric bill, but when our butts aren't sticking to the leather couch this summer, we'll learn to accept that fact.
Anyway, we have a 700 sq ft (approx) apartment and we installed it in our living room. Even on low power, it can cool the living room in a matter of minutes. We use the oven alot, and the AC still keeps us cool. As for the eco-mode, it's okay--we're still trying to figure out what settings work for us.
Overall, we like the AC, and we might consider purchasing another to install in the bedroom.

Received this unit three days after placing my order so a thumbs up to Best Buy's shipping department. The unit was well packed and included all necessary hardware. The instruction/ installation manuals are easy to follow. I had this in place and running in about 20 minutes without rushing. I am happy with the look of the unit, feel of the controls, and very happy with it's cooling capability. The only downside I can see so far is on high this thing is loud. A small price to pay and luckily it works well enough you don't have to run it on this speed very often. In the bang for you buck category I would give this unit 5 out of 5 stars.
I would recommend this to a friend!
