What's great about it: great for normal, external speaker wire.
What's not so great: not good for use with standard internal (CL2) speaker wire
The product is well-made, but I believe it has a serious problem. Regarding the Center Pin technology, it is advertised to work with 16 AWG wire. It will do so quite nicely with regular 16-guage external speaker wire. However, most states require UL-rated CL2 or CL3 speaker wire for running wire inside walls. I found it impossible to push standard 16 AWG CL2 wire sufficiently onto the center pin. Is it just me, or is this indeed a limitation of this wallplate? I was using CL2 wire from Home Depot.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
