What's great about it: Size, options, ease of loading
What's not so great: Spin cycle is very sensitive if not level
My wife and I purchased this washer and matching steam dryer July of 2010. We were impressed with their look and especially with the size each possess. We can do all of our bedding, to include the comforter and still have room to spare. Spin cycle is very good, just make sure that the washer is completely level or it will set off the balance and it can be challenging to run anything other than the low spin cycle. The washer has all the special options anyone could need or want, and quite a few that we will probably never use. We purchased both on sale and got a great deal. If you're looking for a matching washer and dryer, just be patient and they will be on sale for a good price.

What's not so great: Tepid hot water means second washing
Beautiful washer. Got it on sale since it was a display model with coordinating dryer. The sensing system is remarkable. The washer is so quiet!!! The only negatives are the lack of true hot water, and no agitator. These two deficiencies combined means a double wash for me. Sales rep suggested I turn the cold water off and run the hot at a sink for a few seconds prior to running the hot in the washer....it helps. Overall I love the set, and the cute sound it makes at the beginning and end of cycles.

We've had these about 2 months now and they have been great. We opted for the bigger washer than the 3.6 cu. ft.. We found ourselves just staring at it while it was washing. The way it works is pretty cool. No complaints so far.

What's great about it: design, ease, capacity

I'm 26. I bought this to replace a 15+ year old washer at my mother's home. This is a HUGE upgrade compared to what we had before. To better explain....with my old washer I didn't know my clothes were done washing until it was TOO quiet in the house lol. I'll first say that presentation isn't everything but it really shines on this washer. You get led display keys along with beeper chimes and a quick yet non-annoying "tune" when your clothes are finished washing. Right out of the box you feel like you have something top of the line (which you do). Placing detergent, softener, and bleach is straight forward as well as selecting preset washing setting. I haven't even made a custom washing setting yet because the ones out the box have worked just fine. Without the agitator loads are MUCH MUCH simpler and you'll find yourself finding dirty clothes around the house just so you can have a reason to wash. My only complaint is that even though we get a sense wash; the actual wash times themselves never change. So in other words you'll find yourself washing two pairs of jeans and some socks at the regular 45 min preset time (unless there is something that I'm not aware of that can change this). This in no way takes from the product itself because it's quiet when running, SMOOTH when washing and your clothes are pretty much dry when they are ready for the dryer. Overall.....GREAT purchase and for the price you really can't beat it. I haven't had any leveling problems or issues with clothes tangling. YES , since the agitator is gone it LOOKS like the clothes aren't getting washed but when I take them out, they are clean and smell fresh. I don't care what they look like as long as the job is done and this washer gets the job done.
P.S. Since I didn't buy a dryer to math the washer I've noticed the increased loads from the lack of agitator make things tight when trying to dry all the clothes at once. However, since there are much higher spin cycles the clothes pretty much come out dry and my dryer is still able to get the job done as well. This might be an issue for others so just a heads up.

The unit performed fine but had a rattle. When the LG tech came out to work on my new LG washer, i also had him look at the dryer. He took this unit completely apart to find a rattle in the motor mount. Tech. Could not fix rattle and said that LG would get back to me on the next step. I didn't wait on them. I took the dryer back with the washer as soon as he left. Thank God for Best Buys return policy. Bought a top of line Samsung front load with steam. Now that is a great unit, operates flawlessly. By the way, LG has yet to get back to me on the dryer rattle.

You will be absolutely amazed at how much laundry you can do at one time! I actually go around trying to find more clothes to put in the washer because there is so much room left in the washer! I easily washed my king sized comforter without any problems!
I love the sensor that determines how much clothes are in there and then determines how much water it needs. Great water saver!
I love the display and the mutiple cycles I can choose from. It is really easy to use, however it may intimidate someone who isn't used to electronics. But once you figure it out, you will love it!
It does take a little longer to wash than my old style, however, you more than make up the time with the amount you can wash at one time plus the time saving in the dryer. Because it spins better, it takes half the time in the dryer. I bought the matching dryer, and I love it too!
Great buy! I was really happy to catch this set on sale (or else I probably wouldn't have bought it) but I am so glad I did. It is great! Highly recommend.

I never thought I would fall in love with an appliance, but I have with this washer. I got a great deal, and with that decided to get it after having an informative and enlightening conversation with my Best Buy Appliance Expert. It is an amazing washer - whether you are doing a small load or a king size comforter, the clothes are clean, smell wonderful and are not twisted together because of a center agitator.
Seriously. Watch it wash. It thinks about the clothes level and fills accordingly. It measures the size of the load and agitates perfectly. It is a thing to watch once it gets past the fill and initial spins - it literally can teach a person rhythm by watching it adjust to the different spins and agitating cycles. : )
I cannot wait until my dryer kicks it so I can get the accompanying dryer.

I love this washer. I did a lot of research before making my decision to buy this baby, as I have never spent that much on a washer nor had I ever had one without an agitator. I made a wonderful choice. It is huge. I wash a lot of blankets in my household and I can load it up. I have a king size bed and can wash my whole bed; all sheets and blanket in one load and with less water. The dash board looks intimidating at first but it is not, it is so simple to use. The only feature I would change is if it does get off balance and you don't notice, it will drain all of the water out. Although it rarely does get off balance.
And it cleans very well. After watching it work it doesn't look like it would clean good, but it does.

Had this LG washer for about 2 weeks and have run about a dozen loads. I upgraded from a standard top-load Whirlpool washer... and let me tell you, this appliance is from another universe. I feel like I just stepped from little league to the MLB world series.
Amazing washer. It has an easy to use interface that is well lit and makes tons of inviting sounds & music. I spin the knob and press start. All of my loads have been that easy and everything comes out clean.
My main recommendation? Read the manual. Seriously, you just spent a grand on a washer... read the manual! If you do, I know you will experience the same great results that I have.
Want a top load HE washer? Get this one.

I have had my washer for almost a year now and it is still amazing! I can wash huge loads of laundry, including my super fluffy king size comforter that I had to wash by hand in the past. You can fit about 20 pairs of jeans in one load. I love my washer and dryer!

My wife and I wanted to upgrade our energy in-efficient appliances after receiving this years tax return. We shopped around for several weeks and researched a variety of models (and from a variety of vendors). After all was said and done, we bought this appliance and we don't regret the purchase in the least. Not only did we get a great deal (at Best Buy), we have noticed a positive difference in our utility bills. We will definitely consider both this brand and place of purchase again the next time we are in the market for an appliance (but hopefully not anytime soon!).

What's not so great: Wash cycle typically takes 1 hour from start to finish.
I had my mind set to buy a stylish "upright" washer and dryer until I visited Best Buy, and our sales associate showed me this washer. I was shocked to discover the limited capacity of those industrial looking stand-up washers. This LG washer has nearly double the capacity of a standard upright, and can wash up to 35 towels! Insane capacity. Highly adjustable and easy to use. Swallows up weekly loads of laundry with over 50% capacity to spare. Super quiet and efficient, no vibrating during spin cycles. Gets our clothes perfectly clean and smelling more fresh than I've ever had my clothes smell. The only nitpick I can think of is the load wash times; each load on average will take 1 hour from start to finish, but that's a price I'm willing to pay for such incredibly clean and fresh laundry. Absolutely love this washer.

Our Whirlpool Duet finally died after five years. We tried to repair it but we weren't able to do so. So....we went out and bought this new unit along with the dryer at Aaron's Furniture Store. We were originally going to get the Samsung until we saw that this unit had a HUGE TUB! We are a family of 6, so with that being said you can see why we went with this model. It is awesome! The clothes come out super clean and we were backed up on laundry....but not anymore! The dryer that goes with this unit is really great it has so much more air flow than our Whirlpool Duet dryer ever did. A huge load of towels only takes an hour to dry. The dryer is great as well. My only thing is that I am short so....the husband gets to do the laundry! That is great though I didn't want to do it anyway :) So the only downside is that it does not have a sanitary feature, I miss that part that the Whirlpool Duet had. With kids that is a great feature to have. However given the other great feautures it has I am not going to complain too much. Plus, you get tons of rebates for getting it and it does save water and detergent. So you will still get a HE washer and an energy saver. If you have a big family like I do and zero time to get things done GET THIS WASHER! Oh, another thing....no more annoying BUZZ sound from the washer or the dryer now all you hear is a nice jingle almost like a music box or old school ice cream truck LOL

What's great about it: huge capacity
I am not a fan generally of high performance washers that use relatively little water compared to traditional washers, but decided if i could find a good top loader (so you can toss in the errant sock!) i'd try it. This LG is terrific - lots of settings to do an extra rinse or fabric softener, and set every aspect of the cycle. the clothes are clean, and come out half-dry from the efficient spin cycle. I'm a convert!

I bought this washing machine after my second Maytag Neptune in 12 years died and I am extremely happy with it so far. It accomodates large loads, it's quiet and the cycles are about 20 minutes shorter than my previous washers. I've only had it 4 weeks but so far I would definitely recommend it.
