What's great about it: nothing
What's not so great: doesn't cook evenly
The unit only cooks on one side so the top is raw and the bottom is well done. If you open the lid and flip the waffle half way through the cooking time, it comes out just right but why should you have to do that. I didn't use the unit right away so I was too late at returning it, otherwise I would have and purchased something else. Don't waste your money on this one unless you want to manually flip the waffles.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
