What's great about it: The features, the cleanliness of clothes. everything
What's not so great: Nothing
I waited about six months to due my review, because I wanted to be fair with LG. This washer is everything I could ask for in a washing machine. It has a lot of options on it. It cleans clothes just great. I've had Whirlpool, Kenmores in the past, and they don't come close this washer. It holds a ton of clothes. It has an Inverter Direct Sysytem, with True Balance anti-vibration system. It's pretty quiet for a washing machine. Watching it wash clothes, you almost think the clothes are being tortured by the tork of the Inverter Direct System. (but they are not) This machine was well built by LG. The only thing I change is the spin speed. If you use the high spin setting, the clothes sometimes gets tangled together, like jeans and shirts. At medium, your fine, and the clothes come out damp at best. LG did a really good job on this washer. I catch myself looking through the glass top watching the washer have it's way with my clothes. It's worth the extra money for this machine.

What's great about it: very quiet, many options, spins great - less time drying
What's not so great: haven't found anything I don't like.
I love this machine. It is so quiet. It lets me spend less time drying because it spins so much better. I tell everyone that it does everyting but get the clothes out of the hamper.
It dosen't put more water in than it needs. It is the best washing machine I have owned.

Purchased washer 1 year and 6 months ago. Also purchased protection plan. Washer already rusting around bleacher dispenser. Had a old washer 20+ years old and it had no rust on it. Replaced it with this top of line washer and it is already rusting. Appears to be a design flaw with washer. Water remains in the beach dispenser after use which leads to rust. Have gathered numerous reviews off internet advising of the same issue. Best Buys "Geek Squad" calls it "cosmetic". RUST=ROT and CORROSION. Rust is then dispensed into you load of clothes. If you pull your plastic bleach dispenser out, which it pulls straight up, you too will probably find the rust.

Despite my seemingly ongoing bad luck with LG -- my LG monitor lasted about four months, my LG mobile phone about two months -- I ignored my inner voice in favor of Consumer Reports and bought an LG washer and dryer. After four very small loads of wash and less than four week's use, the control panel blew. While this is not covered in the current warranty, LG did agree to replace it without cost to me. However, this incident has caused me great concern. I'm now fearful of even using the blasted thing wondering what will happen next. It's pretty, it has lots of bells and whistles, I like the feature of sensing the load to use only the water necessary, but my guess is that this will prove to be unreliable and a frivolous purchase.

What's great about it: The size, the color, the cycle selections
What's not so great: Noisy, wrinkles clothes
Needed a new washing machine. From my search this was rated the best.
I love the color & the size. Huge tank. Great settings. Love the fact that it detects your load size thus decreasing the amount of water needed.
However, it does take a long time on some cycles & it's noisy. It can leave your clothes wrinkled because of the intense spin cycle.
Still trying to learn all the combinations of cycles to achieve the best wash. But overall, I am pleased with the washing machine.

What's great about it: Ease of use, settings and controls, energy saver, excellent brand, lots of space
What's not so great: The price
My wife and I just bought our first home and wanted to purchase an awesome washer and dryer. We bought this set and had it delivered. After the first couple of washes, the washer worked perfect and had no complaints. During the 4th wash, water started leaking out of the bottom of the washer. I checked all of the hoses and connections and everything appeared to be fine. My wife had put a bunch of blankets in the washer, so I figured it just had too many items in it. I washed another load afterwards with just 2 items and the washer still leaked. I called LG and they said that they could send out a technician free of charge to have it fixed since it was covered under the warranty. I decided to call Best Buy instead. I called the store where I bought it from and they suggested that they could send someone out to fix it or I could replace it with another one. Since it was so new, I did not want to have it fixed with the possibility of the same problem in the future, so I decided to get a new one. Best Buy had it delivered within a few days. It appears that the drum in the washer broke. I blame this on either a one time manufacture defect or it happened some time during the delivery. My new washer works perfectly and I would not have chosen another washer. This thing does everything except put the clothes in the washer for you. It detects how much water and soap to use. It also has several settings to choose from when washing different articles of clothing. There is also a lot of space in this washer since it does not have an agitator.
The only downside is how much we paid. These are a little pricey, but they are well worth it.

What's great about it: It has a good load capacity.
What's not so great: It can get loud at times during the spin cycle.
After receiving the new machine, it washed the first 3 loads just fine. About 10 minutes after starting the 4th load, I checked on it and had water all over my floor! I called to have it replaced, but Best Buy sent a Geek Squad member out first. He said he could "try some adjustments" on it, but I chose to exchange it for a new machine. I've had the new machine a few weeks and it seems to be working well enough. The clothes seem to come out more wrinkled and it definitely takes longer for loads to wash.

What's great about it: Performance and ease of use
What's not so great: Original Sticker Price of $1199.99
LG has come out with a fantastic washer that replace our old Whirlpool agitator machine. Picked up both the washer and dryer as "cosmetic blems" on the floor for $700 each!! Yes, you read it correctly. The washer was used today and it fulfills everything that I had expected from this unit. I have only run across some minor clothes tangling, as some have described, but I believe that to be my own fault in how I loaded the machine.
All features of the machine work as advertised. The laundry comes out o the machine looking and smelling clean. We find the ability to manually control specific functions very handy in lieu of using the default settings.
The only setback would be paying the $1199.99 sticker price. It is highly recommended to purchase this on sale or if there is a floor item available. No wash machine is worth that kind of money.
Overall - 5 Stars for a fine product

What's great about it: Everything
What's not so great: Nothing
I recently had to replace my 20 year old washer and dryer and due to the expense of a new set, I spent a considerable amount of time researching the various washers/dryers on the market. I did not consider buying anything unless it was a high 4 to 5 rating by previous buyers. For the washer, I wanted the stainless steel good looks (what can I say...it's a female thing..LOL) low noise operation, a large tub for washing bedding, energy efficient, WaveForce technology and a SmartRinse jet spray system to thoroughly clean my laundry, numerous washing/temperature cycles and most importantly, a sanitary cycle to remove bacteria and odors. I found all of that and more in the LG 4.5 Cu. Ft. 14-Cycle Ultra Capacity High-Efficiency Washer - Graphite Steel . Not only is it beautiful but it's without a doubt, the best washer I've ever had. Another feature I really like is the self closing lid. You just start to close it and it does the rest. I would highly recommend this washer and rate it a high 5. Another nice feature is the little melody it plays when done....so much nicer to hear then a buzzer. Best Buy's price, customer service and product knowledge far exceeded anyone elses.

What's great about it: GREAT PRICE
This is exactly what I was looking for in a washer. I had been searching for a stainless steel model like this, but could only find white.........I found this and a Samsung stainless steel that was similar, same price,; I chose the LG because it was obviously better built. I am thoroughly satisfied so far. I am still learning the features. No complaints to date....

What's not so great: Twists Clothes together, clothes have mildew smell, poor quality, poor customer service
I have had this machine for a little over 1 year. One week before the 1 year warranty expired, the machine began making a loud clicking noise and was leaking water all over the floor. I contacted LG to file a warranty claim. All was good, until the service technician came to our home. It took the technician over 6 visits to finally "fix" the machine. One month later, in the middle of a cycle it just stopped working. I again contacted LG, and I was told that I am out of luck because my warranty has now expired. I will NEVER purchase another LG product again after this experience. What ever happened to making quality products that last? And to ensuring that Customer Service is truly Customer Service? Buyer BEWARE!!!!!!

What's great about it: Everything
This washer performs excellently, regardless of the load and wash cycle. I love the ColdWater wash feature, which saves me money by lowering my overall electric and water bills. The pre-selected wash cycles are easy to use, and the auto-weight feature is perfect at determining what water levels are needed for each wash load. The machine is quiet, and cleans clothes better than my old washer, and it uses less detergent, softener, and bleach...which adds up to farther savings. The machine is beautifully designed. Thank you LG! Keep up the excellent products.

What's great about it: Adding rust to the wash
What's not so great: Getting stains out of clothes
"Stay away from this machine, and I would imagine the company in general. First experience with LG. I have owned this top load washer for 1 year and 3 months. I just noticed that there is rust coming out around the bleach tray. I just got off the phone with LG and the warranty oddly enough, ended 3 months ago. My first and last experience with LG. I find it hard to believe that I replaced a 20 year old Maytag (no rust) with a LG (supposedly top of the line) that is rusting in just over one year. If you own this, pull out the plastic liquid bleach dispenser (easy to do), and inspect for rust around the edges...it will be there. Hopefully you bought this under a year ago. I assume that all of their products have the same paint/clear coat/construction... so I would purchase another brand in any product that has metal and paint. Can't wait to see where the rust comes out next. Very dissappointed!!! Goodbye LG..."

I have had my washer and dryer for almost 3 months I am very happy with the pair the design and looks are beautiful. The washer is so different from my old one it holds so much and seems to clean the clothes good. My only thing so far would be that sometimes the clothes get tangled up. It has room to put a large comforter in it also. If the quality is good and it lasts me for 10 or more years I will be one really happy customer. I would recommend the washer to all my friends. There is any cycle you could ever want on a washer I do a lot of delicate clothes and it is great for a small cycle of those. I got the pair on sale I had been watching prices for Black Friday and I feel like I got a great deal on this pair!

What's great about it: Style and price
What's not so great: Ability to actually clean
At first I was impressed since I had an old school Whirlpool. I read several reviews and spent about a year looking to replace my machines. After these were delivered I washed several loads without actually watching the cycle. As I started paying closer attention I realized a few things:
1. You must turn on the 'extra water' feature or you will not get enough water in your cycle.
2. You cannot fill the machine very full or the wash cycle will not be able to rotate the clothes around.
3. There is no such thing as 'bright whites'. The temp is luke warm (read other reviews and LG's customer service response). In order to get the hottest temp you must use 'sanitary' and it takes 3 HOURS!!!!
4. You must remove the laundry container after each load or water sits in the cup holder with no where to drain.
I like to wash large loads to save time. If too many items are placed in the wash then the items on top just sit there. They do not move through the wash cycle and simple stay dirty.
So far, I'm not impressed like the other reviewers on this board. I'm considering going with a different brand. I'm a little perplexed on the glowing reviews of this product. These must be people who don't have heavy soiled clothes. (I am an avid runner, hiker, biker, and have a large dog that runs with me.)
You might have a different experience, but if you are looking for super hot water ... it doesn't happen. LG has some type of 'safety feature' that will not let the water heat about a certain temp. That is unless you want to spend three hours waiting for your clothes to get cleaned.

We did a lot of looking and it came down to the Samsung and the LG. We are so happy we chose LG.
Capacity - unbelievable. Large comforters fit with ease and I find myself going into all the bedrooms looking for more clothes to wash because it fits about 3 loads of clothes compared to our previous washer/dryer.
Features - love the delayed start feature. That load of towels has just finished washing by the time I come down for my first cup of coffee in the morning. It is very, very quiet, even when spinning. Our laundry is on the main floor and except for the little tune it plays when complete, you barely know it is running. We have not had any issues with twisting of clothes like some other reviews of other washers. The spin cycle works so well that it definitely has reduced our drying time.
Ease of Use - very user friendly. My kids were able to use it without any problem from the very first day.
Time Saver - I can't believe how much time I have saved in my weekly activities by buying this LG washer/dryer. Not only are the appliances efficient, but it has made me much more efficient as well.
It was more than what we originally wanted to spend, but it was definitely worth it.
This product is or has... All the cycles I need, Energy efficient, Big enough capacity for a comforter, Doesn't vibrate my house, Quiet, Easy to use controls
About me... Teenage kids, Budget Conscious, Parent of kids
I would recommend this to a friend!
