What's great about it: Good performance
What's not so great: A little heavy and big for small spaces
I bought this product as a replacement to the single cube Bose speakers which were over 9 years old. Right out of the box, the speakers looked quite elegant. I bought some RCA cable and hooked it up and could immediately hear the difference at the low and high end of its frequency range. The tweeter and the base are better than my Bose speakers, but the sound quality was definitely better on my Bose.
An additional factor to consider here is the output itself. I have a Yamaha receiver which is entry level and that impacts the performance of the speakers quite a bit. The receiver is next on the list of upgrades to get more out of the speakers. With the Best Buy discount, the speakers are a great value for the performance they provide and I am gald my made this purchase.

What's not so great: Carpet spikes are not included.
While I'll never claim to be an "audiophile" I can say that these speakers are good performers. They are efficient and produce pleasant room filling sound while being powered by a very modest receiver. The sound from the CF-50's is clear and well balanced at all volume levels. They are handsomely designed and are fairly compact for floor standing speakers.
For anyone considering upgrading from bookshelf speakers, these will absolutely blow away typical bookshelf offerings from Polk and Bose.

I had a Sony surround sound system that was average at best. The Huge speakers took up way to much room and were mostly cabinet. They sounded okay but I wanted something smaller with higher quality sound. I saw these on Best Buy.com on sale. I read some reviews and pulled the trigger on them. I couldn't be more happy. Crystal clear sound and they're about half the size of the Sony's. You will NOT be disappointed. If you find these on sale, just do it! Even my wife likes them and she hates when I spend money to upgrade anything but her jewelry.

What's great about it: Everything
What's not so great: Nothing I can think of.
I was hesitant on purchasing but at the sale price of 220$ a piece I just couldn't resist anymore and caved in. I have to be honest, these towers are crisp, clear, and provide a nice low/bass. I was debating between Energy towers and Klipsch towers and I have no regrets! I have these hooked to the rocketfish wireless converter and have no issues, all powered by a Denon receiver accompanied with Polk Audio satellites. At 220$ you just can't go wrong!

I'm not a speaker pro. I took my speaker pro neighbor with me to help me decide on an entry level Magnolia speaker set. The Energy set of 5 speakers is where we landed. I upgraded from a micro set of Boston Acoustics speakers purchased nearly 10 years ago. I'm in heaven now. The center speaker is crystal clear. HD movies are insane on my 10 year old Denon Receiver. I was going to upgrade my receiver but have opted not to for now as I'm at a whole new level of sound quality even with my antiquated receiver. I have no negative feedback whatsoever. I believe I've been running these speakers nearly daily for about a month now. No regrets.

I love my Energy Triple Tower speakers and they work well as a set of 6 speakers to give me true surround sound. Just love the way they fill up my living room with top notch sound when watching movies.

Simply put these are amazing speakers for their price. They include a lot of premium quality parts internally for the asking price. When I first hooked it up I was blown away by the soundstage these speakers put out. When listening to music, vocals came from the center of the listen position, the instruments came from either left or right depending on their placement when recording. Classical music sounds amazing on these speakers.
Movies sound amazing, watching Band of Brothers, Avatar, and many other Blu-ray movies I heard things I never heard before. Even compared to movie theaters.
My only complaint was that when listening to them the bass was a bit tubby on the low end. So I plugged the ports which did reduce the frequeny response, but that is what a subwoofer is for, so the bass is tighter and matches my subwoofer better. In the end I could not be happier with my purchase.

just purchased a new Surround sound system from Best Buy, the guys in the Magniolia Dep. were super, i started with the Mirage nanostat"s then added the Energy 10inch 400watt Sub. but there was still something missing in the sound, don't get me wrong it sounds absolutely outstanding, then i added the Energy CF-50 floor speakers and all i can say is wow they fill in the mid range gaps between the sub and satalite surround speakers, they fill the room with just pure clean sound and look just as good. these speakers have a clean tight base, clear crisp highs and super mids, the complament any system you add them to..
I would recommend this to a friend!

These speakers sound great for movies, but I added a sub (Velodyne off of ebay) to balance out the low end. They are crisp and not too sharp compared to the Polks I compared them too, but the Polk had a better low end. I went for clarity of voices over the thud of action sequences...that's what the sub is for.

I’ve spent a fair amount of time setting up a high quality mid range theater system. And after countless hours listening to floor tower speakers (with the greatest patience from Best Buy associates) I kept returning to the Energy CF-50. I wanted towers to finish off my system that would compliment an already existing setup (Mirage satellites, Polk subs and center powered by Onkyo 3007 & other nice goodies) without overshadowing them. Set up as L/R fronts and a few hours of tuning, we were rewarded with excellent sound reproduction across the board from these towers in our living room. Highs are crisp and clean, mids smooth and even, and the bass has a tight thump without distorting. We now hear things in previously viewed Blue Ray and DVDs that were not as apparent without the CF-50s lending a hand. I can’t say enough about these speakers. My wife now wants that sound quality duplicated on another system in our bedroom for her enjoyment since I’m always using the new setup now.

I was a proud owner of bose, after a year, more than 50 films and trying to set up the sound, my subwoofer stopped working, the warranty has expired. (For some reason only have one year warranty).
I went to shop at bestbuy magnolia's room, one of the employees spend more than an hour showing me sounds and comparing prices, I buy a pair of energy, the sound is more pure, the direction of the sound is awesome, the music sound is crisp.

Was looking for floor standing speakers to replace in-ceiling speakers for improved sound quality. I already have Energy center speakers so familiar with sounds quality. The Energy CF50s were remarkable when compared to speakers costing twice their price. The clarity is remarkable and brings a life like sound into my room. The highs were especially clear without sounding overly bright. Overall, great speakers for a competitive price.
