I've had 5 service calls in 3 months(not yet fixed). Problems with ice make and freezer side cutting off. Many parts including the whole freezer door replaced which fixed ice maker but now water dispenser sprays water everywhere but in the glass. Manager at Best Buy has not returned my calls. Samsung claims to not have any record of my problems even though they have called to see if the replacement parts were received. Poor, poor customer service.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this fridge in January. WIthin two weeks the fridge stops cooling. Turns out it wasn't defrosting, so ice was accumulating and causing the fan to seize up. I called Samsung. Soonest they could get a repair tech out was 4 days later! Their repair tech came to diagnose then came back a week later with parts to 'fix' it. Not even two weeks later SAME EXACT problem. Samsung's repair company didn't return my phone call so this time I went thru GeekSquad warranty. ONCE AGAIN I was out of a fridge for three days this time. (have you ever tried living out of a cooler?? Its horrible!) The tech said he replaced all three parts so it would work... WELL SURE ENOUGH TWO WEEKS LATER its not cooling AGAIN. THATS THREE REPAIRS WITHIN 90 DAYS!!!!! NIGHTMARE!!! I called Samsung again and they 'submitted' a claim for me to get my money refunded..that was three weeks ago and I've heard nothing. They clearly do not back up their products. So I went into my local best buy and because this was clearly a 'lemon' they got me set up with a different fridge by LG instead. Make sure you buy GeekSquad protection! Im so glad I did.

What's great about it: Love the icemaker in the door and the extra space in the freezer.
What's not so great: Not quite as deep as my last refrigerator...still learning how to use the space.
Love the refrigerator so far. Read the reviews from others regarding the ice maker and have had no major issues. Once some crushed ice melted together and jammed the chute, so the ice motor kept running and water would not turn off. Once I freed the ice block everything has been fine.

What's great about it: The Ice Maker
Our old fridge was broken so I went online to look for another. I found the same one ( a Whirlpool) I had but I have always hated the icemaker and from reading the replies Whirlpool had done nothing over the years to fix the problem. I purchased this Samsung although not crazy about the electronics in the door. I thought I would give it a shot since the ice maker was in the door and the ones I have seen in other homes always seemed to work well. I get home and read the reviews and found that people were complaining about this ice maker also. I want to say the ice maker is great and that I had ice in less than 4 hours after the unit was plugged in and have had no issues with the ice maker. I didn't realize in the store there was only 1 switch for ice and water but we'll get used to that. The only problem we have it that the water dispenser wants to drip when it is done dispensing. The manual does say it will take 3 gallons of water to be dispensed to get all the air out, but the drip continues. We just leave the cup/glass under the dispenser for any extra second or two and all is good. The drip tray is not removable but cleans right up with a dry towel.

We have had this refrigerator delivered twice now and both times the ice maker has not worked! I tried to ignore other reviews of Samsung refrigerators and there ice maker issues but can tell you from first hand experience that they are true. I really liked this refrigerator for the look and features, but am very disappointed in the Samsung brand. I have purchased a Whirlpool to replace it and will review that in the near future.

We've now had the fridge for a full month and so I think it is an appropriate time to offer a fair review. To address some of the reviews I've seen online - We have had NO problems or complaints with this fridge at all. NO leaking or dripping water or ice dispenser, no problems with shelves or lighting and overall, the fridge is just fantastic. Our delivery happened on time, we got the unit on sale at Best Buy and we absolutely love the capacity of the fridge - especially the freezer. Its quiet, roomy and a good looking appliance to boot.

Told Samsung what problem was and what I expected from service call.... Samsung sent local service rep. He came, did little, had no parts, left and has not been heard from since... according to Samsung it took 3/4 days for the service rep to order the parts. This is something that he should have brought when he came out... You would think that to swap out the icemaker would be the easy thing to do on a ONE WEEK OLD UNIT. Samsung gives you runaround, everyone that ask you to return a call , never answers their phone, Service reps have never called to update me on repair. Dummies at Samsung had to call the service reps to find out if parts were ordered. One week later still have no idea when unit will be repaired so due to Best Buys policy on returns, our deadline for returning this to the store is looming and it looks like it will be going back....

On our third fridge because Samsung has no parts. Technician came out and found the icemaker line was frozen - all settings correct, water pressure fine and clean power. NO PARTS.
I feel for BestBuy as they have exchanged the fridge 3 times, because Samsung cannot provide parts.
Other than no ice - we love the fridge and freezer.
Samsung needs to get their act together and come up with a fix.

Our refrigerator was delievered on a Thrusday and by that Saturday the ice maker stopped working. I don't think it ever really worked right. Only made about four ice cubes and was slow. After reading the last two reviews we decided to exchange it for a whirlpool model. I thought if it broke in that short time what would happen after the warranty was done? We decided to play it safe then sorry. The ice maker when it did work was very loud. I loved the layout and the refrigerator if it didn't have the ice maker problems. Best Buy was very good about exchange in the store. Now we are waiting for them to deliever our new one and pick up the old one. This just happened last week.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Been waiting over a month for the damage to my walls to be fixed, and for the ice maker to work. The delivery men dented the right refrigerator door and scraped up my walls. The ice maker was cracked, but worked. Got new delivery people to swap out the right door & the cracked part of the ice maker. Now the ice maker no longer makes ice. Stayed home all day, waiting for the ice maker to be repaired. Could not fix it. Now waiting on a new left door & hoping it makes ice longer than the first left door. Wonder if they will ever repair the walls.
Must KNOW: Best Buy is the SALES company. There is a DIFFERENT delivery company and yet a third company for repairs. Good luck.

What's not so great: Water line freezes due to a design flaw
We had to return the first one of the model after having only having it for a week. It would not produce a cube of ICE. In fact, the GEEK SQUAD came out to our home twice to fix the problem and could not resolve the issue. The guy from GS finally recommended that we exchange it for a another one. After we recieving the second one, the same problem became apparent after about a day and it also would not produce any ICE. All together we experiened about 3 weeks of ajusting our schedules to accomodate repair attempts and not to mention the phone calls we made to discuss the issue and numerous times we were place on on hold. So, it was time to say "Bye Bye Baby"! We ended up choosing a Whirlpool signature model.
The repair guy that was sent out by Samsung unoffically told us that this is a common problem with this model Samsung and that the company has not looked into fixing the design flaw.

What's great about it: Design/Functionality
What's not so great: Lighting a little dim, but simply move items in the fridge to the sides.
Bought the fridge a week ago, so this is a fairly premature review. The fridge has an attractive design, the exterior control panel is very convenitent, and the fridge is quiet and seems to keep things cool without any hard labor. (dual compressors defintely help that).
The water dispenser dripped a little when we first recceived it, but after reading some FAQ's on Samsung's site, they reccomended running several gallons through it to remove all air bubbles/pockets. This definitely improved the situation. Hope this helps...

What's great about it: Large interior, very quiet, easy to use display panel, good features

I've had this fridge for a month now.
I was a little hesitant when I read other reviews about problems with the ice maker but I didn't see any fridge with an ice maker where someone wasn't complaining about it. You do have to press down a little hard on the arm to get ice to come out but it's not overly so and you can feel when it gets to the point of dispensing ice it just takes the fridge a second to spin up the rotor to start dropping ice, so I'm wondering if other people who had problems with the ice dispenser just kept pressing even harder during that half second delay instead of waiting on their ice. There are two ice modes cubed and crushed, and if you use crushed it's like dumping a snow cone in your cup and like others have stated that mode can get a little messy but I'm not sure how the fridge could avoid it. Cubed ice as long as you let it all drop before you pull your cup out I've had 0 issues with the ice going everywhere, I like cubed better than crushed anyway. Water is cool when it comes out of the fridge which I like, only takes a minute in the ice to be ice cold water. With 6 pepole haven't had a problem with not enough ice at any point.
Plenty of space in the fridge too, we have 4 kids so we stock up on groceries and we haven't come against the problem yet of "I can't fit XXXX in here". I also really like how easily adjustable the door shelves and main shelves are in the fridge.
Overall great fridge very quiet and I like the light built into it that I can turn off/on.

I purchased a Samsung front load washer/dryer set a few years back and have been happy with them so I liked what I read about this refrigerator so I went for it, sight unseen I purchased it online. The biggest thing that sold me was the 5 year warranty on the sealed system. Almost all of the other brands only do 1 year on sealed systems so that right there was a huge plus. I have had the ice bin in the door before but not the whole ice maker which I have liked so far except for the fact the bin is smaller so it doesn't hold as much ice as ones with the just the bin. I have found that if I am going to have a bunch of people over, a few days before I will bag up some ice so I have plenty. There isn't the option of reaching in and grabbing some ice since the maker is right above the bin. The other thing is when you are using the dispenser for crushed ice it sort of makes a mess on the floor, not too bad but may need some redesigning in furture models. THE BEST THING...is every other ice dispenser I have ever had got clogged up and frozen over every couple of months and you have to take out the dispenser and clean out the frozen chucks. I have had this refrigerator for 6 months and no cloggs!! The wine rack is great to have as well. Needless to say I am very pleased with my purchase.

What's not so great: I don't think you understand..... AWESOME.
So far this Samsung has exceeded my expectations. Operation is quiet. Controls are easy to use and understand. Spill-proof shelves have come in hand on several occations already. Wine rack is also great for holding liter bottles of water. Weren't too sure about ice maker on the door since our last onehad it in the top of the freezer, but I think it's worked for the best. Tons more space for items in the freezer now. Overall, GREAT Fridge!

samsung has created an excellent refrigerator that seems not to have any uneven cooling or freezing spots. stays steady at the temp. you set. does not transfer odors. ice always tastes good. has easy controls. water dispensing is really good. ice dispensing needs some work. hard to get ice, especially crushed, without making a little mess on the floor. also every once in awhile cubes stick in dispenser and fall on floor a little later. shelves in refrigerator could have more options for placement and there really needs to be one more bin in the door.
all in all, it does what it is supposed to do very, very well.

I bought the RS275 model but I think they're pretty much the same model except for size. The fridge and freezer cooled off quickly. The icemaker works as expected. I think the lighting is fine inside. The only downside so far (I've had the fridge about a year) is that the replacement filter for the water is a bit expensive. But this is a minor complaint... the fridge is fine.

The only thing that I am not a fan of is the lighting in the Refrigerator. When it is full with food, the placement of the lights makes it a little hard to see everything inside. Otherwise it is a great refrigerator.
