I needed to connect my old Sony BDP-300S Blu-Ray player to my 720P TV thru my AV receiver. My connection from the receiver to the TV was via component cables. I tried connecting the Blu-Ray player with an HDMI cable, but it transmitted no signal to the TV. I found out my Blu-Ray connection via HDMI was incompatible with my component connection from my receiver to the TV. Purchased these cables because they were less expensive than the "other high end" cables that cost significantly more. I connected them from the Blu-Ray to the receiver. Worked first time and still working!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Bought these cables to replace some std, no-name cables I had just to get the system up and running. I own a A/V receiver pre-HDMI days, so I use these cables to connect the receiver to the TV. Improvement to picture was very noticeable. I'll never buy cheapies again.

What's great about it: Better picture/audio. Easy to install.
What's not so great: Nothing I've found so far.
Just purchased and installed this cable for my Wii and I have to say that it made a significant improvement to both the picture and the audio compared to the original cable that comes with the Wii console.
I had them out of the package, installed and working within 5 minutes. I plugged them in (they're all color coded, you can't go wrong) turned the Wii on and went into "settings", then "picture resolution", and changed it to 480p, then changed to wide screen, and wow, what difference!
This Rocket Fish cable is definitely worth the $25 price tag and $10 less than the equivolent Nintendo cable and they are as good if not better. You especially want this cable if you've just gotten a new HDTV, they are the way to go.
