What's great about it: Looks great, cooks great
What's not so great: Labels on some of the buttons are small and have to close to read
Sensor technology works great. Still getting use to steam cook feature but seems to work as advertised. Straightforward installation if you're handy. A bit easier than the eight-year-old Samsung it replaced. The fan is a bit noisy when cooking but it is moving lots of air and you want to cool the magnetron tube so you don't cook it, too.

What's great about it: It works well
What's not so great: Loud, light placement, and the annoying cancel button.
Overall, I’d by the microwave again. I’ve had it for 6 months now and I think it’s a pretty good microwave. Well, it does what it’s supposed to which is cook. It looks nice and is easy to clean. I do have some negatives about the microwave that others have mentioned. First is the loud fan that runs when you use the microwave. I can understand while I’m cooking something on the range top and I turn on the fan but I don’t think it needs to run when I’m cooking something in the microware itself. The next item is the one, lone, range light. This is a big unit that covers the top of the range. If you are using the range top, the only items that will get lit are the rear burners. The next and most annoying thing is the beeping. On my previous microwaves, when the item was finished cooking, the display might flash or it might have beeped until I removed the item but this one... you have to press the cancel button (or clear, whatever it is) to 1, get the time back and 2, cancel the beeping.

I thought I would like it but I was wrong, I love it. I use it every day. It was not hard to install, but you need a second person to help. I would recomend this item and Best Buy to anyone.

What's great about it: Fits in with other Stainless appliances
What's not so great: Range light design
After talking to two service techs about microwaves I learned the cheaper ones are throw aways in 1-2 years. This being my first OTC
style MW I didn't want to spend a fortune but wanted a few of the features the top of the lines have. The fan runs automaticaly to keep the electronics cool so I hope that will help longevity. Inside is large and cleans well. My useage will be to mostly leftover reheating and an occasional popcorn treat so many of the special features will never be used. The range light should be directed more downward and less toward the wall to be most effective. The reminder beeper is not as noisy as I expected and continues until I retrieve the food which is a good thing. Outside appearance is clean and functional. First unit had serious dent but BB exchanged with a smile. I'm hoping for at least 10 years of use. What, there's no Easter bunny?

I purchased this microwave after my Whirlpool microwave of 10 years broke down. I read some of the negative reviews on various sites, but still chose to purchase this product based on my experiences with Whirlpool. I'm glad I did. I've not had any of the reported issues and I do not have any complaints.
I'm very pleased with how easy this was to install and set-up.

I have only owned this for a few weeks but so far I am very pleased. The popcorn button works well too. It was quite easy to install and easy to operate. The interior is tall enough to fit my tallest cups with room to spare. I don't 'cook' in my microwave, I just heat my tea water, reheat food and make popcorn. For the tasks I want it to do I was delighted to find an over the range at a reasonable price point. Just to put it over top instead of on the counter is hardly reason for me to want to spend $500-$600. I just wish that they carried the model in the store instead of me needing to order in on-line. The added height made it easier for the light rail install in my new kitchen which made my contractor happy.

Solid stuff. I like the door as it does not make that much sound like other microwaves do during opening and closing. Appearance is very attractive and has many options.

What's great about it: Easy set up and great appliance for the home chef.
We bought this particular model for its sensor cooking. Never burns a thing. Lots of settings for those that cook a lot. Sensor was a key selling point. Easy to install ourselves.

Its huge! Fit a ton in it. Looks great and easy to install. I did the research on all of them! Was most impressed with this one. For everyone saying "its loud", it is if self venting. Had it self venting til kitchen remodel was complete. Once vent out into wall to outside, quite as a mouse. Pulls all smoke and smells out. Cant even smell food like popcorn in microwave cooking. The melt option is great. Waiting on steam pot to do veggies and fish!

Above the Range Light Did Not Work

What's not so great: Light underneath the microwave did not work.
This was delivered to us on February 17, 2012.
The next night, we intended to use the light beneath the microwave to light up the range. The light would not turn on.

It's disappointing that a brand new microwave was delivered with the light now working.
This was reported to Best Buy Repair the next day, 2.19.12, the soonest someone can come look at it is on 2/22/12. It's the eve of 2.22.12 and we didn't get a confirmation call from Best Buy that someone is coming.
My tip is before you let the Best Buy delivery leave your home, make sure all the functions are working as it should.

What's great about it: Solid build. Looks great.

This is a well made solid microwave that also looks great. The addition of a easy to clean interior and the extra steam / simmer and soften / melt functions make this the clear winner of all the microwaves available. A couple of notes: Make sure you measure exactly what is shown for install or spend the $150 and have it done for you. The user instructions are all on one two sided 8 x 11 card. At first it is confusing, but you get used to it in a few days or faster if you have had a Whirlpool micro before. Also, the fan comes on every time you use it for all functions and cannot be turned off. That makes it a bit loader than just the normal microwave noise, but again, you get used to it soon. I would recommend this appliance unless the noise is an issue at your home.

What's great about it: Cooks great! Decent price
What's not so great: At first the door didn't line up (read review for full story)
I have been very pleased with this microwave. It heats things very fast and efficiently, the sensor cooking is amazing, and I really like that things don't get over-cooked in it very easily. We initially had an issue with the door not lining up, but best buy resolved that by giving us another one that did have the correct door alignment, so all was gravy.
Installation was fairly simple. Also loving the stainless steel look and feel. I've read that finger prints are an issue, but if you use a good stainless steel cleaner, that "problem"/"annoyance" is alleviated.

What's great about it: finish

Whirlpool has been my appliance company mostly due to a good reliability record. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this microwave for two reasons. My first and formost being the engineers who designed this model find it necessary for the vent fan to run while the microwave is working. No previous microwave's I have ever owned performed in this manner. I dont like the extra noise it produces, the energy it wastes, and the wear and tear of running this fan during every use. The second ended up being an hour on the phone with 3 different departments at Whirlpool to discuss this issue, ending with a lack of care and concern to satisfy a dedicated customer. It is a good looking unit, and has functioned fine, other than sounding like a jet .

There are some very nice features built in that work with sensors, like the hood fan. The controls are not as easy to use, that is the reason for the four stars. The auto-features built into the control buttons makes it hard know how much time is actually being applied to your food. After three months of daily use we are still figuring it out.

I just bought this microwave on Friday and i would definitely recommend it. It was to easy to install. The 2 cubic feet is nice. Very roomy inside. Its easy to use and cooks very well and it looks very nice.

I liked the look of this microwave and it had good reviews so I bought it and those reviews were correct! This microwave doesn't burn my popcorn (I use the popcorn button) and it very large for the space that it fits in.

Pros:
Microwave looks good (stainless steel), power very good and it performs reasonably well. The CleanRelease inside finish seems to be good for cleaning spills and splatters.
Cons:
Digital display control panel response very slow, limited and timer signal tone not very "alarming" so you can miss it. My previous microwave had two timers, this one only has one timer. The manual is poor/unprofessional. The control panel has a little play/space so when you press buttons you hear control panel hitting the main unit. Not big deal but poor design if all units are made this way. My unit was manufactured July 2010.

I was able to purchase this unit as a floor model so the price made the microwave more agreeable to my budget and, for now, I'm willing to put up with the "Cons." I'm also handy so I installed it myself saving $165.

A Microwave with a metal rack & turntable

This is the new age of microwaves. The ability to use the turntable and put another item on the rack is like having 2 microwaves in one unit. When the stove is cooking and the oven is on this unit detects when the temperature is getting uncomfortable in the room and automatically turns on the exhaust fan at variable speeds. It also has a great multi-level light under to light up the surface of the stove or use as a source of light without burning a bright light when not needed in the kitchen. Too many settings to list. Great item.
