What's great about it: looks great, sounds fantastic
What's not so great: You cant watch videos DVD while car is in drive????
Love the stereo, has everything you could want and more. My only issue is the DVD player, I know it's a safety feature but makes no sense to have a DVD player you can only use when car is parked???
This product has... Large/easy to see screen

What's great about it: its an alpine
What's not so great: missing many key features
I purchased this deck prior to returning it for the 910. The bluetooth is poor in my opinion. It rarely auto syncs. Navigation is good. No onboard pandora control. 2V pre outs is also a big downfall. The boot time is quick and functionally sound. It could just use a few more features that the 910 has.

The sound quality is much better than the factory Toyota JBL unit. I wish the interface with radio was more like the Toyota with the channel icons in two rows in the middle of the screen rather than on the bottom. You must go from page 1, band to page 2 to change channels. (or store the channels ) No RDS. Dash kit did not work. Phone pairing is very slow. Customer service is god-no long hold times. I would like to see more customization available for screen preferences.

What's great about it: EASE of Use, Sound, Screen Quality, Bluetooh, Features
What's not so great: Nothing really...just little things Navi isnt the best but accurate.
This is really a great deck. I am writing this review because I know how it helps in making a big purchase decision. For the money this deck is not very cost effective. I bought this deck when it was at the promotional price of $999.99 mainly for supposedly good sound, built-in Navigation, and built-in bluetooth. I going to start off by saying this Deck has met all my expectations. Lets start off with the sound. I upgraded this deck from the alpine 9886 which had 4volt pre outs and great sound. This deck is much better though. Easier tuning and great sounding 24 bit Burr-Brown DACS. Sound quality has not been affected by switching from 4 volt pre-outs to 2volt. I did not install the IMPRINT module mainly due to the fact I am satisfied with the current sound I am getting. I have this deck hooked up to an Alpine MRP-F300 4 channel amp running 4 Alpine type-s speakers, and a 500/1 JL Audio amp hooked up to a 10 w7 in the JL made H.O. box and sound is near perfect. The anti-glare screen on this deck is really Top-Notch. On main menu screens and settings screens, it looks very nice. A complaint I have with this deck would be the Album Artwork looks a little pixelated and the Navigation graphics look a bit outdated. Movies from DVD and IPOD look as good as they can get. I expected a little better picture, but for the time period we are in and the other decks I have seen, This is as good as it gets! Bluetooth on this deck is much better than expected. Pairing to my IPHONE 4 takes a couple seconds, and I can navigate and make/receive phone calls form the deck. The deck pauses the music when an incoming call comes in, and resumes when call is ended. I have access to other menus such as Missed/Dialed calls and PHONEBOOK. Sound quality on phone calls according to my friends/Family is legitimate. They do say it kind of sounds like I'm on speakerphone but thats still pretty good. Bluetooth exceeded my expectations. There was one time I walked into my car and it did not automatically pair, not a huge issue though. Navigation is decent. So far in the last 3 months if had this deck, it has not messed up once. Again my only complaint is the graphics kind of make it look cheap. A little outdated points of interest, but as long as you have the address, your typically ok. Rerouting is pretty fast, and the voice prompts speak out the entire street name. The voice comes from your back two speakers and is'nt the most elegant voice, but overall gets the job done. I bought this deck specifically for sound and ipod interface, the navigation is kind of a plus. You can change the navi to 3D mode, North, or North & South. I prefer 3D mode. To cut it short though the Navigations works. The navi doesn't have the crazy bells and whistles of some others, but my little sister could use it and menus are intuitive. Love the picture in picture mode when Im listening to my tunes, so I can still listen and navigate through my music while getting directions. Ipod interface is great. It works perfect with My 32 gig Iphone 4. I have owned many decks in general, some being alpine, others being pioneer and a kenwood. This is by far the fasted ipod interface on the market. Alpine near perfected simplicity of searching music and movies on this deck The deck charges my Iphone as well as plays video from my ipod directly on the deck. My 32 gig IPhone is completely filled to the brim. Again a small complaint would be that it doesn't resume your search where you left off, but starts back at the beginning. As far as navigating the actual deck, its pretty fast. They have solid buttons on the bottom of the deck and touch screen is responsive and fast. You can change the interface color to Red, Blue, Green or Amber to match your cars interior. I bought the PAC TR7 adapter to use the navigation and video applications while driving, although I DONT condone watching video while driving, I do recommend buying that adapter and its 20 dollars or less.. When installed properly, this is a great DECK and don't let any review tell you different. For me it was between this deck or the Pioneer AVIC-z120bt, I am more than glad i went this route. Pioneer had a lot of what I would call "Unnecessary" features, that are appealing to customers such as touch scroll menus and there DJ software. The Pioneer did have better graphics on the navi though and 6 million more points of interest. Unfortunately in our time, people have come to expect perfection in our technology and this deck is not perfect. But its pretty close, and ill save you the expectations, the other decks your looking at are not perfect either. If you want a Deck that has GREAT SOUND....GOOD BLUETOOTH...DECENT NAVIGATION with plenty of great features that matter, then this is your deck. Don't think twice. Enjoy!

What's great about it: NICE LCD, AN ALL IN ONE PACKAGE UNIT
What's not so great: TO ME IT DOES NOT HAVE AN IMPRESIVE SOUND AND DOES NOT HAVE ANTI AUTO THEFT FUNCTION CODE
THE UNIT IS VERY NICE, BUT TOO EXPENSIVE AS MANY OTHERS.
I HAVE A REAR VIEW CAMERA AND BLUE TOOTH. I DON'T KNOW WHY PEOPLE ARE STILL USING THEIR PHONES WHILE DRIVING. HU! LET ME THINK ABOUT THAT ONE.
THE LCD IS VERY NICE AND WIDE. THAT'S WHY I DIDN'T BUY PIONEER OR KENWOOD, BECAUSE THEY HAVE LARGER BUTTONS AROUND THE LCD AND IT MAKES THE LCD SMALLER, I LIKE THIS LARGER LOOKING LCD. TRICKY TO GET TO SOME FUNCTIONS, LIKE MOST HIGH TECH STUFF NOW ADAYS. THE ONLY THING I DONT LIKE IS THE TOUCH SCREEN BUTTONS ON THE ACTUAL TOUCH SCREEN ARE ALL THE WAY AT THE BOTTOM EDGE OF THE UNIT, WHICH MAKES IT A LITTLE HARD FOR YOUR FINGERS TO ACCESS THOSE BUTTONS, MOST OF THE TIME I CLICK ON THEM WITH MY NAILS AND THAT WILL WORK. THE SOUND IS NOT IMPRESIVE TO ME, IS JUST OKAY. I HAD AN ECLIPSE CD PLAYER IN MY PREVIOUS CAR, AND THE SOUND WAS AMAZING! DON'T BUY THIS UNIT IF YOU EXPECT OR WANT AWESOME SOUND. ACTUALLY, ECLIPSE MAKES A GPS UNIT, I REALLY DON'T KNOW WHY I DIDN'T BUY THAT ONE INSTEAD. I AM IN THE PROCCESS OF UPGRADING THE SPEAKERS AND BUY AN AMPLIFIER, HOPEFULLY THAT WILL MATCH WHAT I HAD BEFORE. I DONT KNOW HOW RELIABLE IT IS SO I GIVE IT AN AVERAGE RATING.

What's great about it: every mobile information/entertainment option you could want
What's not so great: could have more extensive audio sound controls w/o having to purchase an optional module.
wow, what a fantastic unit. I have used 4 or 5 different brands of GPS over the years, and the Alpine software is one of the best. very fast acquisition of satellites and great user interface. iPod control has come a long way in the last 3-4 years, and this unit provides excellent options to quickly access a large song library. the 7' non-glare display is really top notch, and DVD's look stellar. Of course, XM radio is there, and I installed an Alpine backup camera. it has a great option with a pylon grid to allow you to accurately know how far you are away from objects. and you can view the camera while driving, not just while in reverse. the included bluetooth module hooks up perfectly with my iPhone, and the sound quality through all speakers is great. excellent phone options on board as well including my address book. A great piece of mobile engineering!
