What's great about it: Does so much.
What's not so great: Sound quality so-so.
I have had a blast with the JS8. Run it through a nice stereo system and imagine yourself onstage. I haven't tried it with a PA system yet, but it would probably work well. It's very versatile. Great for learning new material.

What's great about it: Everything....
What's not so great: Only downside (slight) is the built in speakers.
The Roland/Boss eBand is a great tool for every guitarist (manual even mentions bass players can use as well). I have had this for one day and I am already understanding playing in key better. The built in songs cover most genres. While the sound from the built in speakers is ok, I would recommend connecting through a stereo or amp using the rca output jacks. This is the best substitute for a band and am glad Roland/Boss made it so user freindly (have tried other devices/drum machines with limited success). You will not be disappointed with the eBand.
