This was a Christmas gift from my son in Afghanistan to his fiance. This was her dream camera. She was thrilled beyond expectations when she saw all the cool features.

What's great about it: Great pictures--many setttings. Lots of lens. Fast.
What's not so great: It is heavy
I have had two of these. the first one had shudder lock up after I had had it for two years. Best Buy replaced it with a new one as I had purchased the extended policy. Makes great pictures.

What's great about it: Great feel in hands!!! Hey it's a canon!!!
What's not so great: Low fps but not really a problem for me maybe for those who shoot sports!!
This very complicated and precise photgraphy machine is not for kids!!! I repeat not for kids... with that being said.... Just a little background on me.... I'm a stone, cold, green, rookie @ photography. I recently just stepped up my game from a Canon XT (350D# to this baby!!! #I will suggest a book " David Busch's Canon EOS 5D Mark II Guide to Digital SLR Photography"# a great way to introduce yourself to this marvelous camera if you're up and coming, inspiring photographer as myself. As for this camera and with a little practice #again I'm speaking for the novices# you'll take some astounding pics. I unfortunately only have 1 lens #Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Camera Lens# I enjoy that lens for the price you can't go wrong...besides the one that came with the camera #24-105mm L lens...it's truly quality # I'm a work in progress and each day I'm learning more and more about this lovely machine!!! Build: A+ Switces, buttons, and etc.: A+ Features: Too many too many to list. Right now as write this @ 2799.00 WHAT A DEAL!!! PEASE DO NOT WAIT!!! I know I will not out grow this full framed gem. I'm betting you'll have years of enjoyment shooting.The only regret #well two# I have is: 1. I did not buy this camera @ Best Buy but at B&H photo. Well B.B. I guess it's better late than never that you finally came down to Amazon and B&H's prices!!! 2. Now I have to upgrade my lens collection..hey that could be fun :) The Canon 5D Mark II is quality you'll feel every time you touch it!!! Happy Shooting!!!

I bought this for my son's 10th birthday. HE ABSOLUTELY ADORES IT! It's picture quality is top notch and is very compact for it. It is literally pictures taken out of a movie.
