What's great about it: ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What's not so great: ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THIS IS BY FAR THE ABSOLUTE WORST PURCHASE I HAVE EVER MADE!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT PURCHASE THIS REFRIGERATOR, OR ANY OTHER REFRIGERATOR FROM SAMSUNG. THE QUALITY OF THIS PRODUCT IN BELOW PAR. WATER GATHERS UNDER THE CRISPER DRAWER, AND IT MUST BE DRAINED EVERY OTHER DAY, THE UNIT ITSELF IS VERY NOISEY, AND MAKES LOUD NOISES ALL THE TIME. SAMSUNG CUSTOMER SERVICE IS A BIG JOKE................. AND THEY REALLY DO NOT CARE, SO DO NOT EVEN BOTHER SAYING THAT YOU WON'T BUY "SAMSUNG" AGAIN BECAUSE THEY WILL TELL YOU GREAT.
BOTTOM LINE ~ BUY ANYTHING OTHER THAN THIS REFRIGERATOR......... NOTHING OUT THERE COULD BE ANY WORSE!!!

What's great about it: Separated refrigerator & freezer cooling systems
What's not so great: Shelves could be a bit more adjustable
If you are accustomed to low-end refrigerator/freezers priced between $400 and $500, this is the best step-up model we have seen.
(Value for Price = 5) Wait for a good sale, we purchased ours during a 15% off sale, and used our Reward Zone coupons and got it for about $750.
(Quality = 5) The dual-cooling system gives this refrigerator/freezer a superior quality rating in my book. Everything is easy to use and easy to set up.
(Featuers = 4) Dual-cooling system - seperate cooling units for the refrigerator and freezer means that you can set your freezer to -12 F without food in the refrigerator freezing.
Shelves are solid and sturdy glass-like material, rather than the wire racks in the cheap refrigerators. So no more balancing acts when trying to put in tall & slim objects like a half-drunk glass of milk. Downside to the shelves is that they have limited adjustability. The middle shelf has three positions about 2 inches apart from each other; and the top and bottom position lack support in the middle so one should be careful not to overload the shelf when it is not in the middle position.
Door compartments are of excellent size for storing gallon jugs of milk or other beverages. Although they are not adjustable, most of them can be removed. Door hinge appears to be quite sturdy, I am not worried about overloading the door compartments with too much beverages.
Crisper drawers are nice size. The bottom shelf is clear glass-like material, so you can see down into the drawers.
Freezer on the bottom is a nice change from the cheap refrigerator/freezers. Drawers make it easy to access everything. No more balancing frozen foods on top of each other, no more opening the freezer drawer and getting your toe smashed by a frozen landslide of food.
The ice maker takes up about half of the top freezer drawer, though you can turn the icemaker off and use the space for other things if you need to.
(Performance = 5) Quick to cool. Both refrigerator and freezer have separate temperature controls of course. There is a Quick-Cool button for both that activates a timed sequence where the refrigerator or freezer drops the temperature rapidly and then returns to normal. Good for when you are putting hot items away or when you need to rapidly lower the temperature of hot foods.
It's really quiet! Until the icemaker drops a tray of ice into the bin ;)
SUMMARY:
So if you are on a budget and looking for a new refrigerator, seriously consider upgrading to this model. It is 100% practical and is without the frivolous extra bells and whistles that drive the price tag up.

What's not so great: DO NOT BUY.
Although this fridge has a few nice features: spill proof shelves, nice size, freezer on the bottom, sleek design. It FAILED in all other respects.
Ice maker completely stopped working and fridge itself stopped cooling after only 4 years. Our electric bill went up really high because the fridge was working so hard to keep going.
I am angry and completely disappointed. What a waste of $900. I think Samsung should reimburse my money so that I am purchase another fridge from another company.

What's great about it: Not much
What's not so great: Design
The shelfves are too close together. Can be adjusted, but height will not allow 2 liter bottles, large catsup, water bottles, etc. to stand on any shelf. Refrigerator door SLAMS shut.! Front is adjusted to lowest point, but that didn't help. Reported this to Samsung. Over all, not very pleased with my purchase. Also, freezer door must be fully opened to get into ice bin, which is very inconvenient.

What's great about it: Size.......looks like built-in!
What's not so great: Bottom freezer door.
We love this fridge but if we could change anything it would be the bottom door. It would be replaced with a pull-out drawer. The problem is that the freezer door has to be opened almost all the way in order to pull out the drawers in the freezer. The size is great for anyone that wants the built-in look. We bought a fridge before this one and it stuck out about 4 inches past our countertops. UGLY! This fridge looks great just like a built-in one!

Own this model for less than 3 years. Bought from Lowes. Stopped cooling about a month ago. 2 service calls from a so-called Samsung technician. Compressor? Not the compressor? Repaired a small part: Relay switch. Guess what? Still doesn't work. Out of warranty for parts and labor. Freezer and refrigerator goes from cold to warm, lost many groceries, milk, ice-cream, frozen foods, etc. Hard to reach anyone at Samsung, my regular appliance repairman said he won't touch it with a ten foot pole. Cutting our losses now and buying a new GE, Whirpool or other, Samsung go *$&# yourself!!!

What's not so great: it is tricky to switch the doors
The refrigerator is working great and we are very pleased with it. It has a good amount of space and is very quiet. It is ergonomic and fits in our small kitchen just fine.

What's great about it: Beautiful, freezer light, and troublefree.
What's not so great: Nothing so far (crossing my fingers).
I'm not sure if this frig. is the exact model we purchased as I think ours is 18.7 cu.ft.? Other then that, it looks exactly the same with the exterior digital display and controls, bottom freezer with light and factory ice maker, etc.
We've had this refrigerator for 16 months and it has been flawless. We were afraid going in due to a couple bad reviews but this unit fit the inset in our kitchen perfectly. Size was the deciding factor as we liked an LG model but it just didn't fit. We're glad we went with the Samsung as it has been as perfect as one could hope for. Our ice maker makes perfect size oval cubes despite some others that cited problems with their ice maker. I can understand though, if you want to switch the door swing, you're in for a complicated procedure. With the digital controls and other problems awaiting the unsuspecting consumer, you may take something that's not broke and break it trying to change the door swing. Even "most" installers have not been able to master this task while most people that tried have later complained of a troublesome refrigerator from that point forward. JMHO

What's great about it: Options and the look
What's not so great: Shelves heights are a little tight.
I purchased this refrigerator to replace an existing old one. It is great, it has many options, child proof locking for busy little hands, temp controls, on/off ice maker and is sleek looking. It performs the way described. I like this refrigerator so much I purchased another one just like for the other house.

What's great about it: Counter Depth
What's not so great: Freezer "drawers" are set-up creatively... might not be for everyone.
I'm still in research-mode for my refrigerator purchase... and have been looking for a low-cost "Counter Depth" option. Some of the Frigidaire models at Best Buy were LISTED as 26-28" on their tags, but with a tape measure... they were about 32"! The Samsung model was the only sub-30" model I could find for under $1000, and I really like the look of it.
This item is not listed as "counter depth", but I can tell you for a fact, it is. Great option for the money, if that is what you're looking for.

What's great about it: counter depth, great price, stylish appearance, exterior temp controls, convenient interior layout, ice maker
What's not so great: limited shelving adjustments, no built-in water filter, bottom door instead of pull out drawer
We've had this Samsung fridge for several months now and I love it. No problems what so ever, which is more than I can say for the fridge that it replaced and it looks wonderful. A perfect match for our new black and stainless range.
What the description doesn't seem to make obvious is that this is a counter depth fridge and takes up so much less space than our old one, which I was constantly bumping into because it stuck out so far past the counter. We looked long and hard at what felt like every counter depth model available and couldn't find anything else in that category to touch this Samsung for the price and features. This fridge is quiet, stylish-looking, has an almost built-in look once it's in place, and the exterior adjustable controls are a nice, convenient bonus. Plus, I'm not constantly losing my frozen foods or leftovers in the unknown depths of the refrigerator shelves, since the interior is more shallow and more easily accessible.
Keep in mind, though, that this is a smaller fridge, comparatively, and likely won't work for large families, which should go without saying for a 18-19 cubic foot fridge/freezer no matter who makes it. The size is perfect for the two of us, though, and probably would be just fine for a family of three as well, just don't expect it to work well for a family of six. Having a little more adjustment options for the interior shelves would've been nice, but the way it's set up works well enough for me and I haven't really been overly inconvenienced by keeping the 2 liter soda bottles in the door with the milk. Nor has the need to open the exterior freezer door all the way to get to the freezer contents and ice maker been an issue for us like we were concerned it might be. Just be sure that where ever you're putting it there will be an inch or two clearance on one side or the other so the bottom door can open properly.
The ice maker can be a bit noisy, but I've known very few that weren't, and it works like a champ. There is no water dispenser, but we didn't particularly care about that anyway as long as there was an icemaker. There is also no built in water filter for the ice maker, but adding one to the incoming waterline only took a few minutes. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with this purchase and would do it again in a heartbeat.

What's great about it: space saver
What's not so great: No water dispencer
Bought this fridge 3 month ago and works perfect. My kitchen is very small and we had a huge side by side that over powered our limited space in the kitchen. We replaced it this this model from Samsung and were surprised at how much we put in it. Things to realize when you purchase one of these refrigerators is what you actually put in it. The gallon milk containers only fit on the door shelf. And there is only room for 4 containers that size. So by the time you put one milk container and a water jug along with a juice or two you have a full door. other than that prints on the door may bother you but we don't care as they are easily wiped off. The food stays nice and cold as does the freezer. Also the door electronics are great. As it will let you know if you have left the door openned and the unit is loosing its cold temp. We don't miss anythinh on the old fridge except the water and ice dispenser. But we knew this going in. This model is one of the least expensive on the market and we think a great buy.
