What's great about it: sound is very good. screen is easy to read
What's not so great: skips if bumped while playing
This is a nice unit at an affordable price. Serves our needs. Would like a speaker out the back of the unit as well as the front.

This product is great for those casual parties where your friends just want to play around. The price is reasonable and the product seems sturdy enough. The sound output is actually really good, but I bought it with the intention of hooking up to my TV and surround sound. While the connection to the TV is great, the sound quality from the microphone through my surround sound speakers has a delay. This is quite disappointing. To resolve it, I connected some computer speakers to the karaoke machine to amplify the sound - that worked out ok, but it was an extra step and equipment I didn't expect. I'm going to do some research to see if a different caliber of red/white audio cables resolves the voice delay through the microphone.

What's great about it: good for beginners at home
What's not so great: won't play graphics from mp3 player
This Karaoke unit is ok for beginners. Sound quality is average for a small unit by itself. It sounds really good through a pa system with better mics and looks good on a tv. One complaint is the system won't do the graphics from an mp3 player (ipod touch) it will do only the sound; a little deceiving from the picture on the box. I haven't had it long enough to see how it will hold up.

Unit did not work properly out of the box. It also apparently needs proprietary CD's, but sales staff never mentioned it, and it doesn't say anything about it in the documentation. Microphone didn't work either. With reverb turned all the way up, you could here the effect return, barely. I use sound gear for a living, and this is not a quality piece at all. I took it back for a refund.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bought this for my 10 year old daughter who loves to sing. She is enjoying it very very much. I would not recommend it for professional karaoke but it is perfect for our needs.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's not so great: piece of junk
got it home and the volume buttons were already shorting out. For a mear 30 dollars more i purchased a coby surround sound system that plays dvd, cd-g and more and has great sound. We are back in singing business again. I like best buy and their helpfull staff but that lame product has to go should sell for 20.00 not on sale

Cannot hear the microphone over the music. Auto level is a joke. Do not buy this product unless you just want a CD player.

What's great about it: Output to TV
What's not so great: sound quality & levels makes singing into it useless.
Biggest complaint is that it says it takes MP3/ipod input, but doesnt have an input jack. You need a special cord that takes ipod output to rca left/right jacks. Baffling why this wouldn't come with device, since it isn't a common cord.
Screen quality was fine for a black and white screen, and the output to TV was nice, but only failr quality, like original Nintendo game system quality.
comes with one mic, but accepts 2. separate sound levels for each. Even at highest cranked levels, you could hardly hear the singers voice, both with the mic that came with the unit and the one I already had. Even when sound was coming through TV. device had an automatic setting to lower song level when someone was singing, but it bearly made a difference to the output level of the singer. You could always hear the singer directly more than what came out of the unit or on the TV.
Unit may have been defective.

What's great about it: The words to the song show up on the monitor.
What's not so great: The monitor is really small which makes it difficult to see the words unless the unit is on a table.
You could find better karaoke machines for about the same price. For now this one fits the bills for a young girl and her friends.

Bought for my 14 yr old daughter for Christmas and she still can't figure out how to get the words on the screen. We put the disk in, but the words didn't show up. We can hear the sound.

What's great about it: Very portable, inexpensive, and easy to use
What's not so great: Not enough volume on CD player.
I use this to play accompaniment music for sing-times in several convalescent care centers each week. There are times when I would like to have more volume for CD replay, but am unable to get it from this machine. I use the microphone to enable folks to hear me more easily as I lead a Bible study; this works very well.
It is very portable (I use a shopping bag to transport it). Overall this is a good, inexpensive machine for my purposes.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's not so great: bad sound and picture cant even connect a i pod or mp3 you need special wires
The sound is so low you cant even here the music and it was on the highest level the screen is horrible can even see the words that good i returned it right away. The poicture shows you can connect a ipod which you cant without special wires that arent even included. and even thought you buy the wires you still cant view the words on the machine.

I bought this machine for my 8 yr old grandson for Christmas. It worked out of the box but the screen would not come back on after the first supervised use. My daughter exchanged it for another with some in store hassle and the screen rolled until she adjusted it many times. The other features seem very good for the price, but the weakness is definately the screen.
I would recommend this to a friend!
