purchased this microwave because of the affordability and it was the appropriate size for my built in cabinet. The microwave matches well with my existing stainless steel appliances and it heats food just fine, BUT activates/turns on when you push the top right corner of the door shut. In other words, door does not correctly shut unless you firmly press down on the top right of door.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not as good as older models

This model is supposed to have the same features as the one we had before, and it mentions the same requirements for say Popcorn, however it does not pop a bag of popcorn. It may have a problem, but it doesn't make sense. Not happy with this product at this time.

Had this model microwave for 10 years now that is has gone out I am replacing it with the same model but updated.

We are replacing our original microwave (same model) that we purchased almost 2 years ago. We selected the same microwave simply because we had the wall kit that fits this particular microwave. The first microwave shot out sparks on a random basis and scorched the interior side panel. Everything that was put in the microwave was always 100% microwaveable. We are hoping that the first microwave was defective and that our new one will not let us down.

JUST OUT OF WARRENTY AFTER 1 YEAR 1 MONTH AND IT STOPS WORKING! NOT HAPPY WITH THE QUALITY OF THIS GE MICROWAVE.

Quality Lives On In GE Microwaves

We bought our house new off the market and it had a built-in GE Microwave. It lasted 17 years. Now that's Quality, Durability, and Reliability! That's why we bought another one. This one is beautiful and the Trim Kit makes for a clean, professional installation. We expect many, many years of service from this one.
