This model has just died on us for the 3rd time in less than 3 years. First was just prior to warranty expiring. Second was a costly, out-of-pocket repair shortly thereafter. And now, a third breakdown will put our repair cost at about the cost of buying a new microwave. Funny, I read some GE responses to other reviews of this product, and they say how unusual the problems are with it, but they really say it an awful lot!

Reviewed many review sites, hand-on inspections, this model avoids all the " bells and whistles" and focuses on quality and aesthetic. Once installed with the ge built in kit , I found the kit to be excellent except for the face plate which is made of plastic and degrades the overall appearance enough I replaced it a custom aluminum piece. Operation is flawless. Highly recommend

The unit is a little over 1 year (out of warranty). Now it makes a loud hum and does not heat the food. Disappointed

The design and the functionality are great, but the plastic interior parts and the poorly designed magnetron gate to the cooking section keep failing. The microwave has had to be repaired three times and replaced twice. I am thankful for the customer service and repair work, but would prefer a microwave that didn't have to be repaired.

This was the choice for our new home. It lasted 14 months and was just as expensive to fix as to purchase a new one. Worked fine, just not for very long. I only purchased another one so as to match the trim kit that was installed.

Stop heating after 18 month use

MOST Terrible microwave ever had. It stops heating after14 month for a couple of days. By then after several level 1-10 testing running, it worked again with bigger noise, but acceptable as long as it heats. Now, it totally stopped heating regardless. Horrible quality and unfortunate default option by my builder.

I want to give this produce (my third try) one me chance. 1st one lasted 8 years, 2 lasted 10 months, 3 lasted 19 months - check with me after 1 year.
