We purchase this microwave to replace our old one which was a Sharp microwave, that lasted 35 years. We hope this microwave last as long.

size and capacity is perfect

I bought my first one less than 3 years a go from Pacific Sale and it start arching and stop working.
I was very disappointed!
They said that the life expectancy of GE microwave is about 3 years.
When I bought the second one just to fit into my existing kitchen cabinet cavity
and spacing, I have to get an extended warranties which I think it wasn't fair.

Door issues

Our first GE Profile lasted 7 years. Do not buy this new model. It was installed on May 26, 2017, and because the door would not properly latch each time that we tried to close it, (it kept popping back open--often neither of the latches would catch) we had the installer come back out to make sure that it was not an installation issue. No, the installer said it was the microwave design issue. We requested a replacement. Another one was installed on June 1. After the hassle of scheduling and so on, we are keeping this one so far, despite the fact that the door still does not close properly. While the door does not pop open, sometimes the top "latch" still does not catch and if it does not catch, you know because the microwave light stays on, plus it will not operate. This is annoying but not a deal breaker due to the hassle of getting yet another one that will fit our space. I suggest that the engineers redesign the door closing mechanism.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Lovely design and features

Just purchased this to replace an older micro/convection model. Needed to retrofit the existing cabinet ignored to install with the trim kit but it worked out fine and looks beautiful.
