Purchased in 2014 to replace a white microwave when updating our kitchen. Two years ago, We had to replace the magnatron, the main part of the microwave. Then about a year ago, you close the door after getting your food out, and the motor keeps running when it’s shut. So we have to keep the door open or go up into the cabinet above (we have it cabinet mounted over our GE oven) to keep it from burning out the fan. True piece of low quality piece of —- and we are in the process of finding a different brand to match and replace. No warranty will cover these, and 3 years without issue is not long enough for me to want to spend money on another GE microwave. Sad really, I used to prefer GE products over all other and had a full GE kitchen suite in white at my last house.

Great while it worked

I am having the same arcing problem others have complained about. The links provided by GE are for user error. Its the microwave it self. I'm getting arcing behind the 4" x 3.25" cover plate next to the light. Micro worked great but its only a few years old and shouldn't be breaking down already. The micro came new with our house along with the GE kitchen set. I wouldn't but it again nor would buy GE products again. All the appliances are falling apart. The quality of their products has gone downhill.

Had it for 4 and a half years and it is fried. Never worked properly from day one. Will never buy another GE.

Do NOT recommend. Died after 4.5 years

No longer heats and only 4.5 years old. Was new when we built house. Many other people had same issue so must be larger product issue. Based on so many people having same issues I wish GE would resolve.

Defective parts

We purchased the entire line of GE products with the same finish. All of our other appliances have been fine, But the microwave. We only had the microwave for 3 years and it started to smell like something was burning. We had the thermostat replaced, costing us over $200.00 for part & labor. It is now only 8 months later & we are experiencing the same smell & its not heating properly. So we are forced to purchase the part again since we have thought about replacing the microwave but could not find a replacement that would fit the finish & specs since we have this mounted in wall with trim piece. I am extremely unhappy with this product, but dont feel we have much other choice than to keep getting it fixed with the same part that doesn't even last a year.
