Only lasted four years!

Was a great microwave until year four. First, the main keypad board stopped working and had to be replaced and now the magnetron and diode have gone out.

Keypad control broke after 6 years. Have been waiting since Nov. 2020 for the part. Three service calls so far--no one had the part or could fix it. Now I hear I won't get the part until May.

Stopped Heating

We bought this model MW 6.5 years ago. After 3 years, it stopped heating and we replaced it on our own dime. Unfortunately it is a built-in and this is the only model that fits in the space. So we bought a second one. And, on cure, 3 years later this one isnt heating either. I dont know how many MW I've owned over the decades, but this is the only brand of MW that I have had to replace for failure to operate.

NEED HELP

Microwave doesnt work anymore. I suddenly shuts off completely after a few seconds of running. It keeps resetting, now to a point where we cant use it. How do we get a replacement. This is built in with the installation kit, so it is the only model that fits. PLEASE HELP!!

Stopped working after a few years

This unit stopped heating only after two years. Terrible quality and only 1 year warranty on it. Looking at other reviews, many other people are facing the same issue with this. Avoid GE products if you want reliability!

Sparks like the 4th of July

Owned this model for just under 4 years and it randomly started sparking like crazy (as if I’ve placed foil/metal inside the unit while running) when attempting to use it. Not sure what’s causing this but I now see in the reviews that others are having similar issues and that GE is no longer manufacturing this model which hints at it being a dud! Thing wasn’t cheap when I bought it and I also installed a matching surround kit. For uniformity and kit compatibility purposes I’m looking for an  upgraded model with the same dimensions.

Do not buy

Came brand new with her new house. First one stopped working at three years. Replaced with the same make and model and three years later there’s rust in the porcelain is chipping off. Not a reliable product. Very disappointed in GE

We’re incredibly sorry to hear the original microwave needed to be replaced after three years and that the new unit is rusting and chipping. This certainly isn’t the experience we expect and will be sure to pass this along to our design team for improvement.

While minor chips to the surface coating on the microwave's interior cavity will not affect the product's performance, discontinue use of the microwave if the coating is actively flaking or paint is peeling anywhere inside the oven cavity (including under the turntable). The microwave is not repairable.
