I'm very disappointed. I purchased this black ink cartridge for a black and white (grey-scale) photo project I was working on. Once my photo was edited to my liking it was time to print. Since my present black only cartridge was empty I opted just to purchase just the black cartridge. Now comes the fun, not really, print head banding is not a great look when you can see it on general purpose inkjet paper in good mode on my HP Envy 5530 printer. Even after multiple cleanings and calibrations the banding was still there. Finally I thought that if I used matte paper in a higher quality print setting (better) that it would use more ink so it would saturate the paper enough to minimize print head banding, which it did. This is not a fix but a work around. I would find that this is the best option because printing on HP photo paper yielded the best print results but even after 24 hours of printing, the ink if touched easily smeared off the paper. (What?) Something I've never seen happen before. So what are my options, well I don't recommend this ink or the printer, my thought is that maybe it's time for a new printer with new ink if I have more photo projects in the future.

My printer likes (has to have) genuine HP ink cartridges, and it was happy when I installed this cartridge. We were down to NO PRINTING, cause there was NO INK. So this fixed our problem. Great item!
