Highly disappointing

Not an easy product to install, but finally managed. It then worked intermittently, and finally I uninstalled it. Then tried to install as a normal printer on my desktop, and still a challenge. As a result, I bought a laser printer from a different company (after 4 Brother printers). This brother was so disappointing, I left the brand

Good and Bad

The good thing about this printer is that it prints quickly and it is full of rich features like double-sided printing. On the other hand there are several bad features. First being that the wireless setup with the CD did not work and I tried and tried many time times to get it to work and was not able to and I am no novice to networks and computers. The second bad thing was customer support. I contacted them to to get help with the wireless setup and they eventually could not get it working and told me to contact my Anti-virus and router providers because my problem was with one of them. Lastly, I would have not purchased this unit if I would have known that I had to buy a cartridge assembly unit every 12,000 prints that costs well over a $100 dollars. Very deceptive on their part if you ask me.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Dollar for dollar this has to be the best duplex wireless laser printer on the market.

Easy set-up and very fast printer. Works well with PC and Mac computers. Very easy duplex printing. Would highly recommend this printer to anyone needing a good B-W Laser Printer.

This printer was easy to add to my home LAN, it works very well, and faster than my inkjet. So far have not used up the toner that came with it.

I was able to get software installed and working over wireless with several Win7 laptops, two Mac OSx laptops and two Linux systems, despite buggy installer. Everything works until it goes to sleep then it no longer appears on network. Router no longer sees it despite rebooting. I'll try using wired Ethernet next.
Convoluted system setup - it has a USB port. why can't I just enter an IP address, SSID & password while it's on USB? Seems simple enough for me. I guess Brother thinks it's too hard for us.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Printer

This printer is fantastic especially with the ability to print on both sides of the paper without even touching it.
It never gives you any problems. Some people have complained about the noise but I can't see where that is an issue.
My only regret is I wished I had bought one years earlier than I did.
