Great for the price

It was a little difficult to set up the wireless connectivity; it failed to connect and I had to repeat the setup several times until it finally just connected. Since then, it has been working flawlessly for me. The printer warms up quickly and the print is sharp and fast; double-sided printing is a real plus.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great but Not Awesome

Positive: Fast little duplexing printer fits into small spaces and is inexpensive.
Negative: the manual feed jams about 95% of the time and the printer goes through toner at an incredibly high rate of speed.
Bottom line: I bought this for my home-based business and I do a LOT of printing. I need to be able to use the feeder a lot, so that and the high cost of toner replacement is a downside, but for home use, it's great.

All you need for a basic printer

Great print quality, cheap use because of toner instead of ink, fast, reliable, quiet operation, wireless and duplexing. What more do you need? I have this for regular printing and a All-in-One for everything else. Awesome!

I never write reviews. But, the Brother compact laser printer is so good, I have to. It's simple, straightforward, user-friendly, and utterly reliable. I have been through no fewer than five fancy and overly-complicated printers, all of which stopped working when just one cartridge was a bit low - frustrating and costly. But, the Brother just keeps working. And, by the way: the quality of the print jobs is excellent. I could not be more enthusiastic.

Good printer, lousy print driver for Mac OS 10.6.8

As everyone says, printer is easy to set up, prints quickly and is a good value EXCEPT if you want to print just part of a PDF multipage document. Unlike my old HP 2100 TN, the Brother is impossible with this task (the "print selected page") does not work. Brother technical support says the driver is an Apple issue and that's that. Insufficient response in my opinion. Of course there is no way to contact Apple about such an issue either. Good luck if you are a Mac user. Perhaps this works better with the Lion OS.

Good but Noisy

Wireless printer works great. I bought two of them as my Mom wanted one also. Pretty simple setup and printing is very good and fast. Only draw back is the noise that comes from the fan unit unitll it goes back to sleep which seems to be 3-5 minutes. If they could reduce the time the fan stays on and/or make it quieter then this would be 5 stars!

Buying this was a mistake

Primarily purchased this device due to the desire to save paper and reduce printer cost. Although I wanted to duplex print I have been unsuccessful in getting it to print to in duplex mode. When I contacted support they were only able to take me through the standard and long trouble shooting even though 90% of the process did not apply to my problem. I was finally given an RMA to return the product and that was the only thing that went smoothly. When I received the new printer, it worked exactly as the first printer and crumpled the paper on printing the second side of the page. It consistently jammed at the inlet and crumpled the pages befor pulling it back into the printer to print the second side. The toner is not full on the cartridge shipped with the printer, a cheap move to save a few cents in toner costs. In addition I have noted a frequently complaint that the printer indicator shows toner exhausted well before the toner cartridge is empty and that you have to bypass the toner out mechanism to get it to use the last of the toner. Quality of print is excellent, if they could only get it to duplex as specified and advertised. I have given up on tech support and will have to continue to waste paper by only using one side. I never had this problem with an HP printer.
