I bought the HL-2270DW to replace an Epson Artisan 800 that was literally a piece of junk, plus ink cartridges were costing me a fortune. I'm very happy with the Brother Laser. It's fast although noisy. The only real complaint I have is that printing envelopes requires access to the back of the printer to modify the paper path so envelopes print from the front loading position to the rear output position. This can be an inconvenience if your printer location makes it difficult to access the back.
Despite this one drawback, the print quality is excellent and I'm looking forward to many years of productive use.

I am very surprised by the versatility and affordability of this printer. My Home/Office needed more than an inkjet and this laser printer was not only affordable, but is "super efficient". I am recommending this to anyone that asks. the toner life when replaced is awesome and also inexpensive. Great product!

Excellent Printer

This printer is my first experience with Brother - have had several other brands prior to this purchase. The print quality is equal to any other laser printer I have owned, and the duplex feature saves me quite a bit of paper. The price can't be beat - an excellent value for the cost.

Good but with a slight problem

Works great, does the job, except: does not duplex consistently with 3 hole punch paper. Tried everything and ended up buying a paper hole punch. The duplex is smooth and very handy otherwise.
