Excellent duplex ptinter

Quick and easy to set up, prints without assistance from user (i.e., no paper jams!), very nice design, quiet operation, fair price.

Pretty useless for single-sheet printing, as the feeder pulls everything in crooked. Also, duplexing is a bit of a joke. If you set the paper the way the instructions say and have a watermark and try to print double-sided, it comes out wrong. If I had to do it again, I'd have stuck with HP.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Product and Value

Fairly easy wireless setup, and great new feature...super cool double-sided printing.
Toner replacement is not cheap, but toner saving options allow you to run for a long time.
This is a great product for the price! This is my 3rd Brother purchase of similar models.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Pretty Good Printer

I have had this printer for about 3 months. So far, have printed 500 or so pages still using the starter toner cartridge. Everything is working just fine, the print quality is great, works fine on WiFi, duplex works fine. No problems so far...
I would recommend this to a friend!

Works well, fast enough. Solid, stable. Quiet. Clean printing.
Setup was easy because my network had the auto-setup feature for WiFi. That is not the official name--it's called Wi-Fi Protected Setup or AOSS--but that's what it actually is.
Only problem with that: the Brother guide showed 2 different icons for this kind of WiFi auto-setup, and neither of them were the icon on my router. I figured it out, but... annoying.
The printer is just the right size for my cat to sleep on. I use a towel as a cover to avoid clogged printer/unhappy cat.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Works very well does all its supposed to do. Fast, reliable and efficient. I liked it so much recommended it to a friend for his small home office and he loves it.

I've had this unit for 2 months and haven't found a thing to complain about. It just does what I want and very quickly, too!
It replaced an HL-1440, but that was only because I wanted duplexing and wireless. After 7 years, the 1440 was showing no signs of fatigue.
If this new guy is that good, I'll be very pleaesed to keep him 7 years, too.
You can't go wrong with Brother equipment.
