Excellent Performance

Plenty of copies and no worries about ink drying. Easy to set up and print. Note: You are warned when the toner is getting low. However, when message appears telling you to change toner cartridge, you better pay attention. Print does not get fainter - it just stops printing. After changing toner, don't forget to slide the green tab on the drum from side to side several times to avoid vertical striping.

This printer is everything I expected, as described, fast, easy to set up and great quality for the price. Will recommend this to anyone thinking of a printer change to laser.

Good purchase

Needed a simple printer for home use. Did not want to have color cartridge that would dry out from non use. Printer was easy to set up and use. So far have not had any problems with the unit. Tried to contact Brothers customer service about an operating question and did not get an answer. Bottom line Printer 5 stars. Customer service -5 stars.

Good, But Not Great Cost Savings

I bought the HL-2270DW for my small business with the express purpose of reducing the load on my MFC-9840 CDW (color multi-function). Despite the "High yield" label, and despite my operating solely in 'toner saver" mode, I have very quickly gone through the "starter" toner and the first high yield cartridge - even though we are nowhere near 2600 pages of print.
I understand that the "estimated" number of pages assumes a 5% coverage rate (which may be unrealistic), but I chafe at the sense that I have been 'roped in' (like everyone else): the business model is not about the price of the printer, its about the number of "consumables". As they said on the corner of Lennox and 125th, "the first one is free, man".
Appreciate the lifetime customer service, the reliability (this is my second Brother printer - both working like a charm) but I do feel a bit sheep-like, and would rather not.

Best replacement for another Brothers product

This printer replaced a non-working brothers printer
HL-2140 which no longer functions and is dead weight. I use the HL-2270DW in the wireless mode since the printer is stationed 10 feet away from my computer. It functions as advertised and was a good replacement printer for my other Brother. Since I have to print full pages and I use the duplex option to save paper. This printer is the best so far of the Brothers Printer I have tried.

great but flawed machine

This machine is great. It delivers clear copies and never jams.
The flaw I refer to is the 8.8 amp power surge it creates when printing is initiated causes my 15 amp circuit to blow unless I turn out several lights prior to printing.

Works great and very simple to use. I would recommend it to anyone for personal use. Can print to it from my phone, iPad and laptop.

Tough decision pays off.

I struggled for months to rid myself of an HP LaserJet I'd been using for the past 20+ years. As it slowly started to fade in the past year, I knew that nothing HP was offering, in my present affordable price range, that could compare the past 20+ years of excellence. Considering that I paid about $700 all those years ago. Needless to say, I got my money's worth. And then, something incredible happened; the Brothers HL-2270DW popped on my screen courtesy of a Retrevo.com Newsletter. For less than an eighth of the LaserJet price. I bought it. And while we may live together happily ever after, if I get 3 years, I'll be very happy. Cheers, RJ
