wish it were in color

because I knew the trick when the light comes on about the toner I was able to get the toner light to go out. If I hadn't read the review with that information I would have not been happy. This is the best printer I have ever had. I got a new router and had to imput the new information about the wi fi connection. That was difficult. If I had only known at the time that all I had to do was change the name of the new internet connection to the old one I would have been happier and home free

Reliable Fast Printer

This is the second wireless duplex I have purchased. It prints great, but the wireless setup is impossible.The one at a different location was finally set up after about 40 minutes on the phone with Brother and several download drivers. Need a better way!

hard to beat for price

I've had the brother hl-2040 for maybe a decade and never had any problems. when the toner light came on and I came across this refurbished model for about the price of the toner I jumped on it. Had it for a couple months with no problems. Wireless setup was easy and super handy and duplex also handy. These two Brothers are only lasers I've owned so nothing to compare to but as long as they chug along why switch. I would think this would be a good pick for a small business.

Lives up to its hype

Worked perfectly from the beginning, and I liked it so well I bought a second one for home. Found a less expensive high-yield cartridge at Sam's Club, and that plus the excellent print quality of the low-toner election made this a winner. We use it wirelessly from the laptop and from the smartphone. Duplex printing is effortless, and the big paper tray is a good feature.

I like this printer except for one aspect. On my previous laser printer (a different brand) I was able to print on pre-drilled paper enabling me to put the paper directly into a three ring binder. You are not supposed to use pre-drilled paper in this printer so now I have to use a 3-hole punch after printing.

I needed a printer that would be lower cost to run than my portrait quality inkjet printer, and this fills the requirements. I use my graphic skills to create lots of flyers, brochures, announcements, labels, and newsletters for my genealogy club and my computer club, and it has served me well.
I have already recommended this product to my other friends who do non-profit volunteer work also.
