I have owned this printer for approximately five months. It's been used daily and has never had any type of problem. It simply performs as advertised. Would I recommend this unit to others or buy another one? Without hesitation!

Great Printer

I know a little about networking and expected to have some difficulty setting up and getting it to work but I didn't.
This printer is easy to network, easy to set it up. Great for a person who doesn't know a lot or nothing about networking.

Great little workhorse

The wireless function and two-sided copy feature attracted me to this product, and we are VERY impressed. Also, affordable toner cartridges for high-volume printing is a trademark I was already familiar with from my last Brother printer. That printer was 8 years old and still had not worn out, but I no longer needed a large mutli-function 5-in-1.

Great printer

This is the second Brother Laser printer that I have owned and I would highly recommend this product others. The setup was incredibly easy. Had three computers connected in less that 30 minutes and with no cables! It works as well with my iMac as it does with the pc. I bought another one for our church and that one is working well too. I love the duplex feature.

Nice Budget Printer

I was attracted to the Brother HL-2270DW because of the price and duplex printing. I haven't been disappointed. It prints reliably, reasonably quietly, and with high-quality text. Characters are crisp and dark, though perhaps a little thinner than some printers. I see this as an advantage: pages have a clean look. The duplexing is simple: the paper is ALMOST ejected into the output tray, then pulled back into the printer for the other side.
There are a couple of downsides: there's a lot of paper curl. A menu setting buried in the printer properties lets you reduce it a little, but it's still there. Also, the bypass "tray" for envelopes and cards is cheesy. It's hard to get stuff to enter the printer straight. Neither of these are deal-breakers, though. This Brother is an expensive, reliable printer, with the bonus of duplexing.
Most of us buy a monochrome laser printer for the value: the cost per copy is usually less than a comparable ink jet. This Brother certainly fills the bill. I've purchased four Brothers over the last several years for home and office use and have yet to be disappointed.

Excellent Overall

Overall, this is a great printer. I would have given it a 4.8 but review would not allow. I easily connected it to my network and it works flawlessly. So, why not a 5.0? Well, this is really my fault for not researching power requirements for a laser jet printer. When this machine prepares to print, lights dim momentarily and my computer trips to the APS from the power surge. I tried it on other circuits in the house with the same effect on the loads on those circuits. My table saw doesn't have the same effect when starting. So I have kept the printer connected to a separate circuit so as not to subject my computer to the surge. I have spoken to 2 electricians and they tell me that this is not unusual for a laser jet printer.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Networked Printer

Love this printer! It works from a windows computer and my Mac laptop, all without any issues to setup. The printer and Win computer are hooked up with Ethernet wire from the router and the laptop is wireless. Does not matter if I don't use it for a month or two , it will work the instant I need it(unlike a inkjet). It is quiet and very fast in my opinion. Handles gray scale without issues. I LOVE this printer !!

I've used this printer for about a month now and am very pleased. It's used to print wirelessly from two computers and is very fast.....perfect for a small office.
