[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bot this and just after one year ice maker failed to work and even when it did it was slow and couldn’t keep up with demand Called customer service about ice and said sorry only one year warranty so at 14 months your out of luck unreal response!! Called independent service and said it would be almost $400 to replace which was more likely that a $200 min repair charge Ugh

Great refrigerator w a few exceptions

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I loved the finish on this but discovered it is just a film. The film started coming off at the bottom of the door handles. Only my husband and myself are in the home and never grab the handles at the bottom. After much discussion with customer service and ultimately a supervisor, I was able to get the doors replaced at LG's cost even though it was out of warranty. This is was a quality issue and not something I caused. I was happy that they finally agreed and helped me out. The only other thing is because it is counter depth (something I have never had before) it is quite small inside. Bottom line is it is a good refrigerator and I ended up quite happy with customer service.
Pros: Style/Design

Love LG and the refrigerator but not the paint

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought all new appliances for our kitchen, stove, Refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave. We bought all LG in black stainless steel. They are all great appliances. The refrigerator is super quiet and very well made. The size and fit are perfect. We are very happy with everything.. except the black stainless steel paint... we did not know it was paint..but it is.. and it peels.off. LG has been great and replaced 2 panels (stove and refrigerator door) last year and are replacing 3 panels this year (dishwasher and 2 refrigerator doors). They really do stand behind their product and have been quite easy to work with. We hope that this was just a bad batch and that the problem has been taken care of. We have found LG to be very well made and just bought a new refrigerator and washer and dryer for our vacation house.
So except for the black stainless steel paint I would highly recommend LG.

Awful, do not buy
on February 1, 2022

This thing is pretty and the roller bearing drawers are great (main reason we bought it). However:
- dividing the vegetable drawer into 3 parts leaves all 3 compartments too small. You cannot fit a head of cabbage or celery into any of them. You have to put them in the main body of the fridge, which leads to problem #2:
- anything that touches the back of the fridge will freeze. No matter how careful we are a head of cabbage will wander to the back where it will freeze solid. We frequently have to dispose of part or all of veggies for this reason. You can’t turn down the temp enough to prevent this.
- ice tray overfills and opening the freezer door sends cubes flying backwards behind the freezer drawer where they fall through and scoot onto the kitchen floor. Incredibly annoying. No adjustable sensor to stop ice overproduction.
- biggest issue: vibration induced noise. When running the fridge has very noticeable vibration which sets off noisy humming in fridge parts and contents alike. Vibration is so strong that it causes things on nearby countertop to rattle as well. Ever hear the heating elements in your toaster sing from across the room?
Summary: it’s still pretty but we regret buying this thing and won’t buy another LG.
Pros: Style/Design, Features/Settings

Thank you for the detailed feedback Ron. The vibrating or rattling noise can be caused by a weak or uneven floor. What happens is that the fridge will rock back and forth with the slightest movement, so it is really important to properly level the fridge and place it on a firm floor with a concrete subflooring. This issue can also be caused if there are items placed on the top of the fridge. Please remove any decorations or contents off of the fridge. Also if your fridge is touching the side walls or cabinets, or there are dishes sitting on the shelves it is normal to hear noise. One last recommendation is to purchase anti-vibration pads to be placed underneath the fridge as this will reduce movement and deaden sounds. ^Jennifer

Perfect size, has some flaws

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I searched FOREVER trying to find a refrigerator that had french drawers, a bottom freezer, AND fit in my space. My kitchen is arranged such that the refrigerator is adjacent to a hallway and the incorrect width or depth makes the corner to the hallway very tight. This refrigerator works great for just 2 people, but I think it may be a little small for a fully family. What I do like about the size is that I do not lose any food in the back, causing it to spoil. I like the produce drawers and the small drawer at the bottom.
CONS: My compressor died less than 5 years into owning the refrigerator. Luckily, it was still under warranty and was replaced by a local appliance company. Now, however, it is leaking into the bottom of the freezer and then melts and drips on the floor...going to see if we can get that repaired as well.
Pros: Style/Design
I would recommend this to a friend!

Can LG improve?
on December 7, 2022

We enjoyed our LG for almost exactly 10 years, we purchased it in May of 2012. The compressor, we guess, died Wednesday evening the day before Thanksgiving. We were able to transfer our food stuffs to three average to large coolers we have and only lost some of the frozen items that had been around too long anyway. We had trouble initially with temperature control, the unit ran warm, that was resolved. Our parents all had refrigerators that lasted decades, so value engineering seems to have gotten in the way of delivering longevity for "modern" refrigerators. That we have lived out of coolers since 11/24, 14 days is a testament that we don't really need bells and whistles but just good solid standard refrigeration. I hope LG and all the other manufacturers focus on better life cycles for their appliances. Our market is small, population about 300,000 in the MPO, metropolitan planning district, its hard to find reliable service for any of our appliances. We have not even considered repair of this dead unit, by the time one pays for a service call and the anticipated replacement parts needed one would have purchased half of a new refrigerator.
