Unreliable and LG provides terrible service

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The fridge is not reliable. Our lg is only 9 years old and I must have spent 3 of those 9 years on hold waiting for an LG agent. The so called smart error system shows the fridge is in working condition, unfortunately it is not and I know this because the fridge is warmer than the outside air.

Bad Seals!

I bought this fridge 5 years ago. Over the last 2 years I have noticed mold and moisture around the seals. And now, my freezer is barely sealing due to this issue. Food is spoiling and thawing. I make a conscious effort to close the fridge doors as solidly as possible, but no use.
From other posters, it looks as those parts for this model are hard to procure.
I do not recommend this model.

Died on us, unfixable

We had this fridge happily for 9 years. The linear compressor went out, which LG would have been replaced, if the motherboard did not also go out, and there are none of those available right now.

Black stainless peels

I’ve had this 3 years. Not that long and the black stainless layer is peeling at the bottom of the door handle. Not attractive. I would not recommend this product line

No Freeze

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After seven years of good service, the LG began to lose its cooling capacity, first in the freezer where I first noticed the softened ice cream, then finally in the main compartment where the temp rose to 50 degrees. After replacing the main cooling fan, recharging the compressor with freon, and other logical trobleshooting efforts, I finally recycled the fridge with the local power company.
