Great overall but limited tall-item storage

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We needed a french-door, counter-depth refrig. without front water dispenser to replace a defunct side/by/side. We like this LG's beauty, very quiet operation (esp. compared to our 18 yr. old frig.), even temp. control, and lighting. However, we find that there is limited tall item storage and the veg. drawers are way too shallow for more than a small head of lettuce, bags of fruit, celery, etc. Clearly DEEPER veg/fruit bins on ONE side and two shallower meat/cheese drawers on the other would be a better layout--then you wouldn't have to open BOTH doors to get at a bin of either type, and lose less cold air in the process. Perhaps the French door design, which is good for WIDE items (foods in oblong baking dishes), influenced the current layout. However, milk in half/gals., in our opinion, should NOT be on doors where temps. vary much more due to frequent opening&less cooling thus promoting spoilage. (The designers intend these milk cartons to go on doors, which means shorter shelf-life.) The only solution is to push in the 'half-shelf' and stand them on the shelf below, which blocks the space behind the cartons, or lie them on their sides. We are familiar with a big chest freezer, so we are ok with the bottom freezer, though it requires more thoughtful planning on WHERE you put things (be mindful of your organization in the freezer section). We are learning how to better use the refrig. space.

Perfect size, so far, so good!

Having had this refrigerator for two weeks, I can say that the counter-depth size is perfect for me, and the freezer compartment is spacious. My primary concern is that the refrigerator temperature seems to vary significantly: if set at 36 degrees, the temperature ranges between 36 and 41 degrees, a spread that seems inordinately wide to me, especially at the upper end. Of secondary importance is that the options for adjusting door shelves are very limited, and, in order to put gallon milk containers in the door shelf and then get it out without acrobatics, the shelf above it had to be taken out and stored.
Pros: Style/Design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We shopped the brands scrutinizing consumer reviews. The LG line clearly had a better track record among owners. While we are pleased with features like the lighting, multitude of drawers including the freezer drawer, we were especially impressed with the quietness of the it. The Linear Compressor is an impressive bit of technology.

Roomy and quiet

Purchased 3 months ago. Took us a while to get organized to use it efficiently because we had a single door refrigerator with an upper freezer. After some learning experience we discovered the LG unit was overall more spacious than the old unit because of a more efficient layout. The freezer in particular is larger volume and well arranged for storing and retrieving frozen foods. The LG unit is soooo much quieter than the old refrigerator. We did not hook up the ice machine , instead using ice trays as before to further silence the LG unit.

Have beeen using for almost a month now. Appreciating the spaciousness without the depth of our previous fridge. Interior design well thought out, with several crisper drawers, movable shelves, and good capacity freezer.
One small criticism: Leveling feet in front were not retractable enough to allow moving the fridge on its rollers without scuffing the floor. Had to lengthen the mounting bracket holes so the feet could be retracted farther, eliminating the dragging. This is something that should have been checked and corrected at the factory.
Pros: Style/Design, ease of use, Features/Settings

Beautiful & So Very Quiet
on July 17, 2018

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this 3 weeks ago and to date cannot find one single thing to complain about! Firstly, it's beautiful in the kitchen! Secondly, the amount of storage it has is unbelievable as I was concerned we would be losing space due to it being Counter Depth, I was very wrong. And lastly we really can't hear if it's running or not...it's that quiet. TWO Big Thumbs UP on this purchase!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this unit after returning a “normal” depth one. It fits perfectly into our galley-style kitchen with it’s “Counter-depth” feature. We love the size and configuration of the shelves inside, plus with the ice-maker being in the bottom, it allows for more space in the top. The only drawback is there is no water in the door, but with small children around that can become a problem to keep clean. This LG Refrigerator is perfect for our family.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Like the way the shelves and drawers are designed to accommodate items to be seen easily and love the bright LED lighting in both top area and bottom freezer. Lots of space in a counter-depth 20 ft. cu ft size. Also-energy efficiency qualified for my city rebate.
