Hot shoe did not work
on July 3, 2012

This is my 4th Canon SLR. The picture quality is very good. The metering seems to work better than my 50D. However, I went to use the camera at Christmas 2012 and the hot shoe would not work with my external flash. Fortunately I still have my Canon 50D which works just fine with it. The 60D was still in warranty, and I should have sent it in but frankly I was preparing for a high volume of pictures that do not require flash, and the quality of the pictures exceeds the 50Ds IMHO, so I didn't mess with it.
IF the hot shoe wasn't dead, I would be quite happy.

Amazing photos

Great camera with really nice features. The photos are absolutely amazing and the video mode as well. It feels solid and expensive. As you know Canon Has been around for a very long time and I have owned and used numerous of their products, and I've always been happy with it. So if you buy a Canon product - whatever it might be I am positive that you will like it and for that matter enjoy it just as much as I do. The eos rebel t2i is also another great camera.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
I would recommend this to a friend!

I got the 60D as an upgrade from my XSI. I have been very happy with performance. I thought the flip/twist screen would be something I would not use. I use it more than I figured. I havebeen very happy with this camera. I wish it was faster in live mode.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: live mode is slow

Pleasantly Surprised

An upgrade from a Canon A540. Controls are similar. It is a very forgiving camers. I used a 35mm SLR a bit, a Canon FTb. I sold a few photos, so I could say I am a free-lancer. So with that stated, I can say the DSLR is much more flaxible and forgiving than the SLR. I was wondering if the camera would be enough to satisfy my interests, but it seems to be plenty. And there are always accesories.
I have done quite a bit of trials, close-up, telephoto and so on in the three months I have owned it. The camera can do anything I have tried to do. The resolution and the flexibility of the viewscreen are a very good feature with the camera's capabilities.
The software is excellant. I have interfaced the camera with my computer and taken shots directly from the computer. I am still working out the details of the wireless link, but I expect good things. The big detail to work out is that I have a netbook with a high definition 10.1" screen that I would very much like to use for an interface. The screen resolution does not satisfy the Canon software, which is surprising since it uses a much smaller screen on board.
Pros: Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, easy to use, good fit to my hands

Canon 60D rocks

My first SLR camera and I am loving it. After a few outings with T2i and T3i, I decided on the 60D. The touch and feel plus the handling are comfortable surpringly for my small hands. It works really well with my 15-85 lens as well. The pictures quality are outstanding. I will enjoy this camera for years to come and looking forward to explore and push it to it limited usages.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
