Professional quality pictures

I wanted a professional level camera that I could use, even though my skill level was minimal. I'm NOT disappointed at all. I've had SO MANY compliments about the pictures I've taken of my grandkids' sports and school related activities that I "almost" feel like a professional. I've taken thousands of pictures over a couple of years and it's as solid today as it was when I first purchased it.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

Great Value For Money

I sold my Mark II and bought the 60D when it came out to be able to purchase nicer glass. I purchased the 24-105 and it works perfectly with the 60D. I love the live features to be able to get the perfect lighting before shooting a scene. Since I'm used to the Mark II body I've been spoiled a little bit. The 60D has a lot of hard plastic which is fine because it's built well. I've taken this camera to Alaska several times and it has performed like a pro every time. It has endured snow, rain, dust, mud and kids! It's great for any sort of setting or environment if you take your time. The only complaint I have with it is the focus seems to be off more times than not with AF and MF. Other than that, it's recommended for anyone!
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: medium build quality

A Great Step-Up Camera

I used a 10D, then a 30D and was thrilled with both but this 60D is easily the best of the lot. It fits my rather large hands better than the Rebel T3 I also owned for a couple years (the T3 is a great beginner camera that I give five stars to) and is therefore more comfortable to use. The 60D has a much better viewfinder than a Rebel and better focus points. Noise level is low throughout the ISO range. Image quality, of course, is excellent. I love the flippable viewing screen. My only complaint is that Canon decided to move away from the Compact Flash card to the Secure Digital format cards. I guess to make it more amateur friendly. Anyway, this is a great camera.

Couldn't Be Happier

I just got the 60D in the last few weeks as an upgrade from my Powershot S5is (which I will keep and still use as it's an excellent camera and very portable). I wanted to upgrade to my first DSLR for better sports photos of my kids. They are in gymnastics so flash photography is not allowed during the meets. My S5is takes great pics, but just can't get the low noise, fast motion sports pics in lower light with no flash. My father and brother both have Rebel XTI's and get some great pics with those. The new vari angle LCD on the 60D was what finally pushed me over into the SLR world.
I had considered the Rebel T2i, but I really love the vari angle screen on my S5is and I didn't want to wait for the T3i, so I went with the 60D and couldn't be more pleased. I'm already getting great lower light shots with the 18-135mm kit lens, but I also bought a 50mm f1.8 prime to really capture lower light shots with no flash. I'm very impressed with the low light abilities of the camera / lenses. The burst speed and continuous shooting speed of this camera are great for me as well. Plenty fast for me and a good compromise between the T2i and 7D (which seemed like overkill for my first SLR and didn't have the vari angle).
I found this camera very easy to get used to. Yes, it's more complicated than my S5is, but I read the manual and I've found the controls / menus to be very intuitive. With a little help from the manual, I was already experimenting with shutter speed priority and aperture priority modes on my second day of shooting and getting some cool variations on my shots. I like the exposure bracketing feature also. This thing has just been a blast to shoot with!!! Seems like a camera a novice can use right away and get great shots with auto, but that you can quickly grow with as you get more experience.
Video shooting is great also! Auto focus in video seems to hunt a bit until it locks in, but I don't really care, as the vari angle screen makes it so easy to cradle the camera that I just switch to manual focus while shooting video anyway. It's quicker, less noisy and is really easy with just little bit of practice. I will be surprised if Canon doesn't add the vari angle screen to more of their DSLR's in the next generation. This thing gets great "artsy" video shots that I could never get with my camcorder, and I can just use my regular high def camcorder for family event shots where I want continuous autofocus and the depth of field a smaller sensor gives.
Congrats Canon, on a great DSLR for newbies and experienced users alike! I just love this camera / video camera (because it really is both), and your addition of a vari angle screen to one of your DSLR models was the final piece of the puzzle that got me to upgrade from my S5is to a DSLR. I'm having so much fun making new memories!
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Simple controls/menu, easy to use, vari angle lcd
Cons: none so far

The Canon EOS 60D is a wonderful find on my part. Yes I
am a genius, in this purchase at least. This is the best EOS
ever to my thinking, because you get a camera that competes with the more expensive models in quality of
prints at a bargain price. Love It
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use, easy to own

I'm a novice, but decided to invest in a proper camera to try and grow my skills. I was looking for a camera that would be a good foundation on which to build. I played around with a few different cameras and settled on the 60D. It feels solid in your hands, the ergonomics are great, and it's packed with features that will be available when my skill set needs them. Right out of the box, it took one of the best pics I've ever taken, even on auto mode. Its like being shown a whole new world. I couldn't be any happier with my purchase, and am constantly amazed by the pics it takes. Buy with confidence, you won't be disappointed!
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

Excellent purchase

I have been using DSLR camera's for a couple years now, primarily on the Rebel series, and a few times on the higher-end 5D mkII. I purchased the 60D a few months ago because it was the limit to my budget, and had a few more features to the Rebel series. So far, this camera has been one of my best purchases from Canon, and I plan on using it extensively for the next few years.
Pros: great manual features, vari-angle screen, durable, good battery life
Cons: kind of expensive

Great camera

Even though I just got this camera I love it. There are so many features that it is not an easy camera to learn but my experiences with using the XT, XTi and Xsi have smoothed over the edges. I wouldn't have wanted to come into this camera cold. Before I actually got the camera I downloaded a pdf of the users guide. This is one of those rare times when I would advise anyone interested in this camera, or any of the advanced Canon EOS cameras, to READ THE MANUAL.
