I have used a LG original LG Filter (LT500P/5231JA2002A) produced by Cuno Water Group on LG LSC26905TT Refrigerator since June 16, 2012. And in July 2014, my refrigerator did not make ice, but water tasted ok. I realized that I have not changed filter for two years that make filter clogged and pressure was low that leading to no ice produced. Once I replaced filter, it recovered to produce ice. That means my filter does worked well for full two years. What a high performance!
I replaced old filter with other maker produced filter but it contained many residues and white particles.
I will buy original LG made filter.

Doesn't do anything!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I measured the water from this filter with a TDS meter and it tests the same as water from the faucet. This filter literally does absolutely nothing.

Please bring back the old filter

The prior filter design fit properly and was so effective. However, the new one does not fit well and it leaks!!! Please listen to your customers and provide us with a quality filter as you have in the past. The refrigerator is good; the filter is NOT!

Great tasting water

LG recommended and sent this filter (green label) for my LFX28968ST refrig but it does not fit! Original filter ADQ36006101-S (red label) is what I need. Not easy getting RMA label for return!

I have replaced the water filter in our LG refrigerator 8 times with the LG LT700P and a couple times with other, less expensive, brands. The LG brand has been reliable in fit (no leaks) and performance (cleanest tasting water, definitely better than the tap water going into it). The others improved water taste, but not as well as the LT700P. One other brand oddly came pressurized enough to blow the cap off as soon as the plastic wrap was cut. That never happened with the LT700P. Although the LT700P is considerably more expensive than the others (minus 1 star for that), it has proven to be reliable and to perform very well.
