Beautiful Refrigerator
on August 7, 2013

I have a small kitchen and in switching the location of my fridge and stove, I needed a counterdepth as the fridge would be across from a peninsula counter. This refrigerator fits the bill and is beautiful to boot. I do agree that there is less room in this fridge as compared to most because of the counterdepth, but since I put my old fridge in my garage that's not a big issue to me.
What I miss most is the abililty to store more tall bottles--what I ended up doing was switch the sliding shelf to the left so I would have overflow storage, and I adjusted the shelves on the right to fit my taller bottles. This way I didn't lose another shelf to larger bottles.
I love the icemaker and particularly the crushed ice feature and we all use it all the time. The water is definitely an issue the first time you use it, it is not where most are located and so you don't put the glass in the right place.
Also, at first my lettuce was getting frozen. All I did was adjust the temperature up to 46 deg and everything still stays cold but nothing freezes anymore.
But, overall this is a nice looking refrigerator with great features.
P.S. For the reviewer who said the left door slams shut, perhaps the refrigerator legs need an adjustment so this will not happen.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality

Nice refrigerator, but poor ice maker design
on August 8, 2014

This refrigerator looks great and was a great solution for my small space needs. It has nice features and is very easy to use, but the ice maker definitely needs improvement.
I have to break up the ice in the ice bin every couple of days because it is a little wet and sticks together, then does not dispense. The ice maker stopped working after 3 years and needed to be replaced, which is very expensive for something made almost totally out of plastic.
The energy saver feature is useless, because when it is turned on there is excessive condensation on the dispenser area and driping down the doors when opened.
Pros: easy to use

4 Miserable Years with this Fridge!
on March 23, 2016

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is year 4 with this refrigerator. All in all the design and layout of the refrigerator is one of the better ones on the market. Since month 3 my refrigerator has been nothing but a problem. This Linear Compressor that is so revolutionary for refrigeration industry has been nothing but noise and problematic. It has been replaced twice. The freezer never seems to stay frozen. The Ice Maker is convenient in its location and offers moderate capacity for a counter depth refrigerator but the fact that if you leave the refrigerator door open for 30 seconds or longer the fan defrosts just enough to then refreeze and turn the unit into a leaf blower. The fix for this problem by the way is to unplug your unit for 3 hours (LG'S recommendation ) then plug it back in hoping your food stays cool and your ice maker works again. Now, last night, 3/22/16, the freezer has gone out again and even though this unit has a history of problems LG will not assist me in any way shape or form. They definitely don't make it easy for consumers to get behind their products when they won't!
Its a bummer because LG initially stood behind their product; once it became habitual they no longer would honor the warranty and when I pushed for a new unit they essentially told me to go pound sand.
Don't be fooled by how pretty this unit is...especially since the number of available counter depth units is very limited. I WOULD NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER LG REFRIGERATOR AGAIN...
Unless you like a constant walk on shells headache.... I would avoid this unit like the plague... If i only had it to do over again!

Very Good Refrigerator

The counter depth cause you to lose some features, like tall bottles in doors, and less items because it's not as deep. But other than that the frig works great. You have to sacrifice some for the counter depth. but a non counter depth frig wouldn't fit in our kitchen. My only problem is when you close the right door first , then close the left door, sometimes you have to push the centerpiece in a bit to close the door. it doesn't have a very tight spring to close the centerpiece when you open the left door, but that is minor. Other than that it's great.

This Refrigerator is a Keeper

After having this LG refrigerator for a few months now, I can rate this as the best I have ever owned.
The veggie keeper does an great job at keeping veggies lasting a long time. All the fresh last twice as long as my other brand.
The Ice water dispenser has the coldest and tastiest water you could possible get.
I live by myself and found this is perfect counter-depth enough for me and even when I entertain. The freezer holds much more than I thought.
I love this product.

French Door Fridge

It is a big fridge; more than I needed. The one thing I don't like is the left side door slams if I don't hold on to the doors to close them.

fit our needs

The LG 3-door stainless steel refrigerator was the only model we could find that fit all of our criteria. We had to have the counter depth, and preferred the slim-ice maker on the door. We have been using this unit about 2 months now. Overall, it is good, not great or our best ever. The texture on the doors is very difficult to get streak free when cleaning, and re-training my husband to always close the left door first has had its challenges.
Our biggest issue is the freezer section~~ twice recently we have had ice crystals, almost like snow cone ice, build up on the basket and contents. We have not adjusted the settings, freezer still at zero; and we have not
left the door open too long, nor have we heard an audible alarm. Curious as to why this might be happening.
Also, anytime a guest attempts to use the water dispenser in the door, we end up with a big mess. Seems the stream of water is not exactly where one would expect and the water misses the glass or shots beyond the glass and we end up with water on floor and down the front of the fridge.
A pricey unit, and our first LG purchase, so we are hoping for the best in our long term use.

Not a bad refrigerator
on October 30, 2011

We got this LG refrigerator to fit a counter depth location that most would not fit well. Ity's a good looking refrigerator and has nice features overall. The controls on the outside make sense for use, unlike some brands. The water dispenser is placed well so you can fill a 5 gallon bucket if you needed to. No limitations there. The ICE dispenser has good space for most containers ad advertized, however one of our pitchers is too large. The energy efficiency is top rated so that was a big factor for buying it. Down side so far is the door closes smoother if you close the left door first. Kinda odd and I would not have let it pass engineering to production but does not cause issues. The adjust ability of the shelves is good if you have a number of tall items having both a fold back full/half shelf and the ability to raise and lower them. We have only had it for a short time so I can't really comment on the quality but it seems like it's well made and if it holds up as well as the LG washer and dryer we bought, long term I suspect I will be happy with it.
