I bought this FFMV164LS Item 6 months ago and unhappy I did.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good features; some annoying drawbacks

I installed this microwave to replace a previous Fridgidaire after 9 years of happy daily use. We loved the previous one. This one was easy to install, and had some new features--mainly in how the keypad operates. Some of these are meant to be for convenience, but are actually annoying. Most older 'waves allow you to punch in the cook time and hit start. Not this one; hitting 1, 2 or 3 automatically cooks for those minutes; the start button does the same in 30 sec increments. Also, most 'waves cancel when you open the door. This unit does not, and it beeps
incessantly when done cooking; if you don't hit cancel before opening the door, your in for some frustration. Otherwise, it works like every other 'wave I've used and has nice preset cook and defrost features that are easy to use.

We would like to recommend that you review the Manual Cooking section of your owner’s manual on page twelve for manual cooking instructions. You may also utilize these tips listed below.
Heating with high power level
1. Press Cook Time pad.
2. Use the number pads to enter desired heating time (cook time may be set up to 99 minutes and 99 seconds).
3. Touch START pad.
When heating has finished you will hear beeps and “Good” will display.
Heating with lower power levels
Example: to heat for 4 minutes at 70% power:
1. Press Cook Time.
2. Use the number pads to enter desired heating time.
3. Press Power Level pad once for power level 10 (100% power).
4. Use the number key to change the power level to 7. PL7 appears in the display (70 % power).
5. Press START pad.
When heating has finished you will hear beeps and “Good” will display.
This section of your manual will also provide instructions for heating with multiple cooking stages. If you have additional questions regarding the cooking functions of your microwave please contact us directly. Kind Regards - Anna

Bought the microwave about three months ago and the panel where you press the numbers and/or cooking features the board has bubbled up so there are dozens of air bubbles on the key panel. First time seeing this occur on a microwave. Very upsetting to see this on a new microwave.

A beauty that screams!

Sad! Beautiful microwave, works great......except it literally screams at the end of the cooking cycle. Opening the door doesn't stop the high-pitched screaming, only hitting "Stop" shuts it up. Please fix this!

Great unit, awful loud beep

This is a great unit however as noted in numerous reviews, the beeps are long and loud and there is no provision to silence them; it is really a obnoxious drawn out sound .
