Over the stove/counter microwave

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent piece of equipment. Works great, has a large capacity and the controls are easy to use. Quick reference bottoms are very convenient and provide one touch cooking. Turn table keeps food moving so it reduces the possibility of hotspots. I have a lot of microwaveable glass cookware and it makes cooking fast and easy. Whether it is a large or small item, it makes no difference because food gets cooked just the way you program the machine. I am very pleased with this unit. Installation was a breeze and was performed by an experienced crew.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] . I use the microwave a lot. I don't have a lot of time to cook so important I can prepare food rapidly. The Frigigpdare microwave functions reliably and is easy to use. But when the cooking cycle is completed IT BEEPS, AND BEEPS AND BEEPS AND BEEPS- VERY LOUDLY. The only way to shut it up is to open the door or hit the cancel button. THERE IS NO WAY TO KEEP IT FROM BEEPING AND I ABSOLUTELY HATE THIS NOISEY FEATURE. I know there is no way to turn the beep off, because not only did I read the user manual page to page but I called the Frigidare help line. The person I spoke with even took a lot of extra time to contact a tech. She finally had to tell me there was no way to turn the beep off. Because of this very obnoxious feature I WOULD NEVER BUY THIS MODEL OF FRIGIDARE MICROWAVE. If it was not new, I would trash it and get a microwave that permitted me to turn such beeping off. What a major design flaw to harness people who buy this model with beeping, every time they microwave- like it or not.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for taking the time to submit the review of your over the range microwave, PFski. Most of the noise from a range hood comes from the blower motor but a considerable level also comes from the rush of air through the ducting. This can be a lot more if the ducting is incorrectly sized (example, when using a 6" diameter duct for a hood that requires 8"). Or when there are too many 90 degree bends or the external grille is of the wrong type, (i.e. more resistance = more noise). Double check your installation instructions to ensure you have the correctly sized ducting for your microwave. On low, moving 170 cubic feet per minute of air, your vent will average 64 decibels equal to normal conversation. On high, moving 300 cubic feet per minute of air, the vent will average 72 decibels equal to just above a normal speaking voice. I love your idea to incorporate a “night light” setting on the surface light! While we cannot implement all suggestions, the information that we receive from our consumers is taken into consideration by our design engineers for future models. We appreciate the time you took to write in regarding your appliance.
