Has never worked correctly

What's great about it: Functions ok once up and running
What's not so great: Has never worked correctly and even under warranty, no one can fix
Over all this PC performs decently once up and running. Reasonably fast and good graphics. No notable issues when under use. It is still under full warranty.
My issues started with a very loud hard drive. The drive was replaced under warranty of which took over 3 weeks. The new drive was just as bad and now it comes up with a screen when starting saying a new CPU has been installed. You have 2 options: 1 is to hit F2 to load defaults (work and it starts) or 2. Enter set up and go through some complicated steps that do not fix the problem. Took it back a second time. Installed yet another Hard Drive under Warranty. (that make 3, the original and 2 replacements). Same problem. Took it back number 3 trip. Geek Squad Installed a new battery. Worked while in the store. Got home same problem. Talked with ASUS support. They were very unfriendly and could not resolve the problem. Wanted me to ship the PC. They do have some Bios corrective support downloads but they come in a format only a PC guru would know how to install. (confirmed that with ASUS- the complications of their download). I give up. Still noisy, have to hit F2 every time I use it. Still under full warranty but I can not spend weeks on end and be without a PC again when no one seems to be able to fix it. I am through with ASUS and hope it lasts a little while before I trash it so my money is not 100% down the drain. I have found on the web, this same issue with other owners of this messed up model.

What's great about it: Inexpensive, reliable, capable.
What's not so great: Tower design SUCKS
Quick, strong enough for regular home use, no problems with performance at all. My only qualm is the location of the front USB ports and that the power button and CD-ROM drive buttons are identical and often confused. I had to change the settings becasue the power button was being hit every time we tried to open the disc drive so the computer would shut down and we'd have to wait to reboot, etc... The front USB ports are placed in a location where anything plugged in is constantly being bumped and this resulted in one of the 4 ports being broken the first week we had the tower. Of course this isn't covered under manufacturer's standard warranty, either. Good thing there's 4 of them. As far as hardware and performance, though, this PC is wonderful. Definitely worth the money (and then some), just has a poor tower design.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I replaced my 2003 e-Machine with the Asus. It was easy to set up and transfer all my files from the old computer. It is fast! I am very happy with my purchase.

What's not so great: haven't found it yet!
I searched and researched the computer of my dreams for months! I couldn't get excited about all the computers and stores! when I found that PC world had chosen this one as their Editors choice, that took all the doubt out of the equation, that it wasn't Dell or other brand name. I couldn't get all the goodies I wanted for the price. This machine is FAST!!!! It will grow with me for many years! When it arrived, 5 days later by UPS, I was impresssed with the packaging detail. It was a dream to set up and so easy. It is a really nice looking unit. ASUS is really there for you too! I am recommending this computer to everyone I know. Also BestBuy made ordering so easy and highly recommend purchasing all your needs thru them. Thank you BestBuy!

What's great about it: it's much faster than my old computer
What's not so great: sometimes the mouse, loses the cursor in the right margin of the screen
Purchasing this computer system was made easy with the expert advise of the person on the floor. He asked very good questions before recommending the right system for our home. It was obvious that he was more interested in serving and meeting our needs than he was "just selling" a computer system.

What's great about it: Everything. :D!
What's not so great: Wouldn't mind a Graphics card, but for the price, amazing.
I can play just about any game downloadable off the internet. It couldn't hurt to upgrade the graphics, but other than that you can do anything with it. Great multi tasking. I've had no problems there. If any gamers see this I was playing Mabinogi and Vindictus at the same time. =)

What's great about it: quiet
The computer took some getting use to seeing that I have only used Hp and Dell computers before, but it is growing on me. Nice and quiet.

What's great about it: speed and features
What's not so great: a very big footprint that takes up some space
I have had a lot of success with ASUS notebooks in the past and decided to take a chance on this desktop model since it had such a good price/performance/feature package. It has been all that I hoped for and more and would recommend it to someone who needs a dependable and efficient system for their desktop.

What's great about it: Asus makes everything inside the box, so they ought to KNOW what's up if something does fail to perform.
Have just had it a month ~ still familiarizing myself with all the features. Time will tell

I was looking for a computer primarily for my kids to use for games. This seemed like a good price. When we got it, I put it all together and it never worked right. The screen would go to all black with only the cursor visible. We had to turn it off and turn it back on repeatedly. It crashed after my kids put one game on it. I returned it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's not so great: Makes noise.
For the money, I really like my new computer. Not crazy about the keyboard it came with. Dark gray letters were hard to see and it just had a cheap feel to it. Switched out key boards and was on my way. Invested in an external hard drive for backing up computer which I recommend for any student. It is fast and easy to use and set up was a breeze. I was concerned about a noise that sounded like grinding to me...this went away. It's still not completely silent...but it was also $200 less than the computer it replaced.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Price and easy set up.
What's not so great: video card for gaming
I bought this computer bundle mainly to play Starcraft 2. The only upgrade I had to perform in order to play the game was add a ATI Radeon 5550 graphics card. Other than that this is a great basic system with upgrade bays and expandable memory. The monitor and wireless printer were an added bonus for the price.
Also I didn't purchase the set up from best buy because the back up discs were very easy to make. Only catch is to have dvd r discs.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Unit kept giving blue screen when I turned it on for the first time, Used unit for two days and blue screen kept coming on, and this was before I had opened any mail or downloaded any programs returned unit to store and bought a HP

What's not so great: it's crashes and ive got to wipe to factory settings and lose everything..
I purchased this computer with excitement, i upgraded to a 500w power supply, and got a new graphics card for a gaming computer, i had it for about a month then i got on on one morning and it wouldnt open internet explorer, or firefox, i restart it and it kept crashing, ive had to wipe the HDD and start back to factory settings, i would reccomend this computer but i would want people to know that it crash's alot...in my opinion i would have not bought it...
