I bought a week ago and the printer already told me I was out of black ink and within 5 more prints the color is faded and done. I printed less than 50 copies total all B&W btw and this is absurd. I'm requested a refund.

I'm sorry that you didn't have a good experience with the cartridge you received. It does seem like you should have gotten ones that lasted longer.
How a cartridge will perform in your printer will vary according to usage and environmental factors. Ink usage determines how long a cartridge lasts, unless it was damaged or defective. High-density prints (such as images and graphs) will use more ink, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the air is dry.
If it appears you got a defective cartridge, you can check about returning it. That process is covered, step-by-step, at:
