Love it

I was using a laptop with an external monitor and the keyboard was the laptop. This meant that I had my head positioned to one side all day while I spent most of my time looking. My chiroprator visits started to increase, so I ditched the 20" monitor, got a sweet new 25" monitor and this keyboard and moved the laptop off my desk. Now my body is positioned good for hours of software development work.
Why I'm happy:
1) Hate cords, love wireless where it makes sense
2) Love the feature that allows you to recharge your keyboard from USB. I've gone a month without recharging
3) Love the backlit keyboard that senses when your hands are near. I prefer a dark lit room to work in.
4) Love that the front edge slants nicely into your table top, so you don't need a wrist pad.
Why I'm happy:

I am pleased with this keyboard with one exception. It seems to have more
'bounce' than the hard-wired keyboard which came with my computer. Perhaps I need a lighter touch than that required for the prior keyboard.

I got the hot keys programmed and they work properly. I especially like the ability to work in the dark - no monitor glare.
Would I recommend this. Yes, but you will have to adjust how you strike the keys.

BEST KEYBOARD YET!

I got my first computer in 1990 so I have gone through many keyboards and mice. This is the best keyboard that I have ever owned. The feel of the keys is different than all my others. This is not a toy with plastic clacking, it's a man's keyboard..OK I suppose a lady might like it too. I am a night- owl and I don't like to keep a lot of lights on when I am working on the pc late at night so the illuminated feature is made for me. The really odd thing is that I contacted a store that sells Logitech Products and I asked about an illuminated keyboard. I was told that the batteries would wear out and I would be buying them by the gross so they don't sell any. I searched HP and sure enough they had a rechargable illuminated keyboard! Shouldn't everyone know about a great product like this. If you are thinking about a new keyboard, don't hesitate, just buy this one and you won't be sorry. The light comes on by sensing your hands being near. The light adjusts to the ambient light in the room. The keyboard is also silent as you type. You can type in a completely dark room if you want. I enter online sweepstakes for a hobby so I use my keyboard a lot. You will love it.

I really like this keyboard, the key's being lite really help to type at night or anywhere there is low lighting. I read all the review's before buying the price is high but so far the keyboard has worked great for me.

Runaway Keyboard

The new K800 wireless, backlit keyboard is great looking and has a good fairly good typing feel (it DOES require a positive stroke -- not as light as I expected), but on my XP SP3 Dell system, it has a totally annoying habit of frequently (like every 50 strokes or so) of running away with a letter. And once it starts it is hard to stop. It also will switch to Overtype mode on it's own. I'm not a touch typist, and have to look at the keys to type, and it is really aggravating to lose already-typed text when trying to insert new text.
The keyboard is now in its box, awaiting a call to Logitech.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Best key board we have ever owned over the 20 plus years of computer use. It is a little more expensive but is worth every penny.
