What's great about it: Sound quality, fit and finish, visiually appealing
What's not so great: a bit pricey
Recently upgraded to CM5 from my 15-year-old B&W DM602 pair (which possess significant sentimental values), I must admit the sound quality is a big improvement over the 602. My very first impression was, wow the sound is so "clean" and "smooth". The clarity and details are very excellent. For the size of this bookshelf it sure packs a lot of punch. Bass is very strong and tight without being boomy. Fit and finish are top notch. I picked the glossy black and it looks expensive.
Another reviewer also pointed out do not go cheap on the amp. It's also worth noting that CM5 is not the most efficient speaker. Therefore driving it with a decent amp will really make a difference. I am using Pioneer Elite SC-09TX to drive the CM5's.
Overall I am very satisfied with CM5. It's expensive but, hey, treat yourself well because you deserve it.

I don't consider myself an audiophile by any means, but paid up a little for these speakers which I was told are top of the line for their size. I was not disappointed. The sound quality is crisp and the range is impressive. They live up to the hype. If you need something that will work in a smaller space but don't want to compromise on quality, these Bowers and Wilkins speakers are the real deal.
This product has... Right size for my space, Easy to set up, Good build quality

Great look, excellent sound, at a big price. You pay for quality. I love them. The sound & power are phenomenal as I'm using them w/ the new Onkyo TX-NR809 receiver. Highly recommended.

What's great about it: Visually pleasing,magnetic grill,dual binding post for bi amping, best sound your going to get from a book shelf speaker
What's not so great: Glossy Black Scratches easy.Do not put a beer on it.Sound so good i now have to upgrade the other speakers in my home
I Currently am only doing stereo surround. I have these guys bi amped to my Denon AVR3311 and let me tell you, they are amazing. Visually pleasing, and awesome sound. I originally had the B&W 683 floor standing speakers but had to get rid of them for space reasons ( those were amazing as well). I have a live album of Coheed and Cambria which I've listen to over and over. Before my purchase, I brought the album into bestbuy and had one of the guys play it for me. It was like I was in the stands at the show. It took me back to the day when I saw them live in NYC.
Awesome for movies and music.
Do not go cheap on the amp.

Do not get scared because of the price. They are well worth the money. If you have a Bose system just throw it out and start over. Do not try and compare these to bose. These are on a much higher level.

What's great about it: Everything
What's not so great: I can't put them in every room of my house.
I have been a fan of Bowers & Wilkins' speakers for quite some time. I purchased a pair of these CM5s in the piano black finish about 6 months ago. First just aesthetically, they are a very striking design. Most companies charge extra for a piano gloss finish such as these. Also the grills connect to the front using a hidden magnetic system. Everything about these speakers screams high end.
Now the sound quality these speakers produce even surpasses the looks and the price. I was completely blown away by the level of detail from high resolution audio tracks such as SACD and Blu-ray. I use these with a REL sub. You could get away doing a 2ch system without a sub because the CM5s do surprisingly well with bass but a bookshelf can only reach so low on the frequency range. Mid-range is clean and clear as well.
Treat yourself to some CM series B&W speakers today. Just be sure to power these bad boys with an amp that will do them justice. I use Rotel.
You will not regret it.
