Char Broil Turkey Fryer is a great product.

I got this as a gift about 8 months ago, It works great, I have done turkeys, pork loins, and pork butts for pulled pork. Every thing came out to perfection.

So good I bought the Larger One

All the food was so good cooked on it that I bought a larger one. I gave this one to my son that is enjoying it. Best grill I have ever owned.

Big Easy - Perfectly Named

Just purchased for Canadian Thanksgiving. Seasoned the unit as per instructions. I used canola oil, 2 sessions about 25 minutes each and I had a beautiful bronze cooking surface. Rubbed a 13 pound Turkey with olive oil, then seasoned with smoked paprika and salt. Pre-heat the unit for 10 minutes, dropped in the Turkey and cooked for 2 hours until meat thermometer read 170 degrees in both breasts. AWESOME, Brown crispy skin, juicy meat with fabulous taste! See for yourself, this really is EASY! Oh and I coated the basket with canola oil using a paper towel, bird didn't stick, clean up easy. Last thing, drippings made a fantastic gravy.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Best Thanksgiving Turkey Ever!!!

I host 15 people every Thankgsiving for dinner as my wife and her Mother spend all day in the kitchen preparing traditional oven cooked turkey. I stay outside and cook the free turkey breast from our local supermarket for being a preferred shopper.
Easy cooking, put seasoned butter wedges under the skin and dip turkey into Big Easy. As the drippings drop into bottom drip pan. Transfer drippings from drip pan to a small pot, insert drip pan, than pour drippings over turkey as it cooks. Repeat process throu-out cooking process. About 10 mins a pound. Use your own thermometer (toss away the plastic thermometer that comes in turkey).
Your turkey will be moist, look & taste great! You will get more compliments than the oven baked turkey.

fantastic product

We purchased the big easy to make a turkey while camping. We read the reviews and were a little sceptical that it would not taste as good as a deep fried bird....
To be honest... it was way better for a number of reasons..
First the overall cooking time is faster.. no waiting for the oil to hit temperature.
Second.. no expensive oil to purchase
Third. . Way more versatile and easier to clean
Forth and by far the most important was the taste... all of the seasoning stayed on the turkey and not floating through the oil. The drippings made fantastic gravy and the skin nice and crispy while the meat was oh so tender and juicy.
I have since done a beer can chicken as well as ribs... we are trying a pork roast tonight...
Would I recommend this product ? Depends if they are going to invite us to dinner...
P.s.
The thermometer that was included with the big easy was broken when we opened the box.
Called char broil customer service and the support was fantastic. Not only do they made a fantastic product but they back it up with first class service. Keep up the great work

Best way to cook a turkey

I have used my infrared turkey fryer for a few years now and am still very happy with it. I have cooked lots of turkeys in outside temp anywhere from 20 degrees to 90+ degrees and it always cook the turkey great. Granted the wings and drumsticks get a little crisp, but the important parts cook perfectly. I always use a wireless cooking thermometer and of course a thermapen to double check. It also works great to collect drippings for perfect gravy. This unit is very easy on propane for the speed it cook too.

Dissapointed after first use

Bought this for upcoming thanksgiving turkey and did a test run with a 4lb test whole chicken. Completely thawed and dry, never frozen chicken. After 90 min cook time internal temp only 138f. I cooked for extra half hour due to outside temp being 45 degrees. Dial turned to max entire time. Wound up needing to put kids to bed so i had to throw out whole meal since it was undercooked and i ran out of time. Again, i allowed extra half hour due to colder weather!! Very disappointed and im reconsidering our thanksgiving meal in this cooker.
Rec cook time by charbroil guides and advice is 8-10-15min per pound depending on meat and are all significantly off based on my use. Charbroil needs to provide accurate recommendations for cooking in cold weather so people are not fooled this holiday season and ruin their meals. Im soooo glad i tried this out before the big day.
Perhaps with appropriate cook time guidelines this device would be easier to use. But after this attempt, which i read about extensively prior to cooking, im VERY leery heading into thanksgiving.
Based on this performance i cannot recommend this device and am considering a return myself.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Flavorful results...

I bought this for Thanksgiving last year and loved the way the turkey turned out. We have a big family so my wife also cooked a turkey in the oven. I aske everyone which turkey was better, and all agreed that the Big Easy turkey was better tasting and more moist.
