Works as advertised but use a meat thermometer.

The Big Easy is awesome. I've cooked turkeys, chickens (2 at a time), pork loin roast and ribs in it. While the recommended cook times get you in the ballpark, there's no substitute for a meat thermometer to know when it's done. I have a digital meat thermometer with a probe into the meatiest part of what I'm cooking and it come out perfect every time. If you don't let the meat cook to the proper temperature, you can't blame The Big Easy.

It is our corn cooker

We have had Big Easy for several years and, while it is great for roasting a chicken (we have never tried roasting a turkey in it) what we mostly use it for is roasting corn - the best corn ever! We soak the corn in the husks for a few hours, fire up the Big Easy, and roast the ears, silk up, for about an hour. Using non-porus oven mitts, the corn peels very easily. I always make extra. I leave the extras in the husks and individually wrap them tightly in plastic wrap. Throw one in the microwave for a couple minutes and it is as good as it was fresh from the Big Easy.

Best Tasting Turkey

Just purchased the Big Easy this week and did a turkey. In the last few years have had major problems cooking turkey in the oven - don't really know why but the taste and texture have been "off" and I have cooked turkey for many, many years. Anway, just did a turkey in the Big Easy and it was the best tasting turkey I have made at home in a long, long time. Now, I have a question: Not many in our family like the dark meat so I am wondering if I could cook two bone-in turkey breasts together, setting them in the long way as you would a turkey. Anyone ever try this, and if so, what temp would you cook them to and how long?

Love that there is not half the mess as you would have cooking it the regular way. Especially using oil for the turkey. Hate cleaning up oil anyway. LOL! I would recommend this to anyone and have already. Great item and thank you!

Great alternative to a turkey fryer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Packaging/Shipping: Great. Very sturdy packaging and item arrived in perfect condition.
Assembly: Easy. Assembled in about 15 minutes with only a phillips head screwdriver.
Ease of use: Very Easy. Screw on the propane tank, turn the knob and click the starter.
Effectiveness: Surprisingly great. We did brine prior to cooking it, but the Big Easy make very juicy turkey with very crispy skin. Every bit as good as frying, but without having to deal with the mess and dangers of oil & fire. This is a great alternative to frying and probably better in all honesty because it's so easy and quick to use.
Cons?: I'd like it if if there were a way to seal it, an internal thermometer and a means of regulating the heat. This is a set-it-and-forget-it cooker, which is a plus for most. But I'd like a bit more temperature control for cooking different types of meats. I also found some of the materials to be thin and easily bendable. But it's generally pretty sturdy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Easy assembly (less than 30 minutes) very sturdy and simple to operate. With no pre heat I prepped my bird and dropped it in. Cooked to temp and let rest. Skin was very crispy and the meat was moist and juicy. I will be buying the accessory kit with hooks as well as a bunk bed rack to make this cooker even more versatile. I would 're omens this over a traditional turkey fryer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this just a week and have used it twice. I love how easy it is to use. So far I have cooked a turkey and a roast and they both have been cooked really well. I have a friend that has been looking for an oil less fryer. I let her use it and the next day she went and bought her own. The only thing I would improve on would be the assembly instructions. But other than that this is an amazing product.
I would recommend this to a friend!
