The SSD 840 PRO 2.5-inch SATA 256GB performs flawlessly. It is easy to install and performs faultlessly all of the time. My only negative comment is that the included migration software is very limited in its capabilities and the documentation and support are rather limted

Very fast SSD drive compared to other brands. It also comes with the longest warranty of any brand SSD. It is the best of both worlds. What more could we ask for.

Fantastic SSDs!

I have 2 Windows PCs, each running a Samsung SSD 840 PRO 2.5-inch SATA 256GB. I had a Samsung SSD 840 PRO 2.5-inch SATA 128GB in my wife's laptop but the drive outlived the laptop. I also have a spare Samsung SSD 840 PRO 2.5-inch SATA 256GB.
There were a number of great sales at the end of 2013 so I stocked up and bought 2 -Samsung SSD 840 PRO 2.5-inch SATA 256GB, 1-Samsung SSD 840 PRO 2.5-inch SATA 128GB, and I even decided to try a Samsung 840 EVO 2.5-inch SATA 250GB.
Pros: Durable, fast!
I would recommend this to a friend!

BEST DRIVE OUT THERE! I HAVE 3 IN THE HOUSEHOLD AND THEY WORK GREAT AND FAST, CLICK AND YOU THERE IN AN INSTANT. NO MORE SPEED OF 7200 ON REGULAR DRIVES FOR ME.
Pros: Inexpensive, Durable
Cons: no cons that i've found

Only the best SSD

Everything with the SSD itself is perfect. This truly is the best made SSD available, from the leader in SSD technology. The software is very good, but it has a few quirks. It indicates that new firmware is available, yet it will not update. I run Windows 7 Pro. Also it will not set up over-provisioning even though I have enough room on the drive. Even so this is the best SSD software that I've seen, and only works with Samsung products.
Pros: the best ssd in quality and performance
Cons: software not perfect, price but you get what you pay for

Great SSD for older MacBook

I got this for my 2010 MacBook Pro, having read various comparisons of SSD performance in older model Macs. This SSD works really well; even at 3Gb/s bus speed it's totally worth the upgrade for faster performance. Some other drives claim to work, but perform very badly below spec in a 3Gb/s context.
The SMART tools from Samsung don't work with OSX, so I suggest you budget for an app like TrimEnabler to make the most of the drive.
Also, some drives come with a cable or even a basic case to aid in migrating from your old HDD (if, like me, that's what you want to do)... But the Samsung drives don't, so you've either got to get creative or shell out even more cash! I just ripped another SATA drive out of its case for this process, but if you don't have one, be prepared.
So, the drive itself is great, but the missing accessories make it less of a bargain than it initially appears.
