put this up almost 5 years ago with amp. i am as remote as possible in florida. out on state preserve. 70 miles to towers in orlando. still gowing strong. 2 hurricanes.. i just laid the whole mast (two 10 ft chain link fence top pole sections) with antenna down on the ground.
this antenna picks up 80 to 90 channels consistently from 20 ft ground mast less than 10 feet above roof line. there is big oak hammock immediately between the antenna and line of sight. doesn't seem to faze it a bit.
i can get orlando, daytona and in between. if i turn the mast, i can get tampa, fort myers, etc. it just works.
i do have an amp to get the signal down from the antenna to the tv. without it, the amount of channels is significantly decreased. would not hesitate to buy another if this one ever quits working or is damaged. highly recommend.

performs as promised - if nothing is in between

With any yagi style antenna in the UHF range line of sight is important. If your within the antenna's distance spec and there are no large obstacles - mountains, buildings, etc - in the way, this antenna does the job. I feel the antenna is a little light weight, but if handled carefully there should be no problem. (We haven't been in a big wind yet, though.) That is particularly true of the passive director elements. Those are the bow-tie shaped pieces along the front part of the boom. They are easy to bend since they are stamped out aluminum pieces. And snapping them on the boom is a little tricky, but the trade off is once snapped on, they aren't likely to pop off. I'm using an antenna pre-amp, which is necessary in my area (Shenandoah Valley picking up signal from the the Blue Ridge Mtns to the east.) The biggest surprise with the 91XG is the side pickup. It's pointed NNE but I am also getting signal from due west along the side of the 91XG.
I've used a variety of antenna over the last years as Repack has changed not only frequencies of stations but also translator locations and transmitter strengths. I would prefer that the 91XG was a bit stouter of build, but the thing works; and works well.

Excellent antenna

I was surprised how well this antenna receives ota signals. Picked up 77 channels including some low power stations 60 miles away. It came in a small box, but took about 15 minutes to put together. I put my meter on it while it was on the ground, and all the channels were very good. I was not sure how stong it would be with the antenna only bolted to the mast with the support beam, but it is really sturdy. This is an excellent antenna for rural areas. I will be putting this antenna on my installation list. And the customer service is great!

Antenna Can Overcome Cross Channel Interferen

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I live between the New York City and Philadelphia TV markets with Philadelphia 35 miles from me and New York 68. Since the FCC repack, two low power stations in Philly were allowed on the same frequencies that as of 2022 WNBC (NBC 4) and WNYW (FOX 5) are on. I have some good quality combined VHF/UHF antennas that can pick up most NYC channels, but these two they just can’t with that interference and lost them in the repack. The 91XG 10 feet off the ground can when aimed right at the tower, and with use of a good amp and distribution amp, and on a separate antenna line to TV. It’s not a VHF antenna, though, so if you want NYC VHF from such a distance, you’ll need another option in addition to this one. But because of 91XG’s directional capabilities, I feel it’s an excellent antenna.

I'm very thankful to your employee Ben for suggesting the 91xg antenna because I had chosen the model suggested by the internet. We get 40 stations with this antenna compared to the previous antenna that was receiving only14 stations and after 6 months it totally quit. Thank you Ben and thank you Antenna Direct.

I am 60 miles from the Dallas TV towers and have a yard full of trees. I have a covered porch on the front of my house and before I went to all the trouble of rigging up a mast, I decided to see what it might do.
I have a swing on the front porch and using a 100' RG6 coax I mounted the amplifier on the antenna and sat it down on the swing, pointed in what I thought was the right direction. The performance was impressive, crystal clear and well over a dozen stations. I removed the amp and still got lots of stations crystal clear.
So I mounted the antenna under the porch roof. Watched TV for several days and decided to put the amp back on for times when the signal may be weak....rain for example.
The antenna is of the Yagi style which has directors and reflectors. The design has been around for decades and the perfect design for pulling in distant signals.
