Great sound, build quality, and features!

I've only had a few weeks to try these out but so far I'm extremely impressed. The sound quality blows away Beats, Sol Republic, or Bose headphones I've used in the past. So often nowadays headphone manufacturers love to throw in ridiculous amounts of bass without taking into account that listeners may want more than a reproduction of an 8" subwoofer blowing out their eardrums. The Harman/Kardon NC headphones do a wonderful job at keeping the bass tight and boomy, but not sacrificing the minute details of each track. It's truly a joy to listen to these and experience sounds I've never heard before in my music. The noise canceling is great too; haven't used them on a plane yet but vacuuming and other loud household noises are severely suppressed.
My only "complaint" is that the sound quality without the noise cancelling feature engaged is not the same, as you lose a little bass/mid-range quality. Honestly though, with a rechargeable battery and not having to worry about replacing AAs, you can safely always listen with the NC feature engaged without a care in the world. I shouldn't even be complaining though as being able to listen to these without NC active is a big bonus and further sets these apart from other headphones. Build quality is excellent as usual, and I actually like the heavy feel (like a door on a fine German automobile!). All in all I'd highly recommend these even if you don't plan on needing them for a plane ride, etc. Simply engaging the noise cancelling feature while lounging at home will give you an experience you'll rarely get with another pair of headphones. Oh yeah, and the NC "static noise" that others might complain about is virtually undetectable while the NC is active. Wouldn't have expected anything less than awesome from Harman/Kardon!

Microphonics spoils it for me

I like the overall design and construction. But there is a big flaw. Micrphonics (the noise generated by the cord rubbing against clothing/body etc..) is unbearable when not listening to music. As long as there is music playing, the noise from the cord is negligible and is fine to bear. But once the music stops, the noise from the cord (particularly the mike area) touching the body is unpleasant and unbearable at times.
I really wanted to like this device but I have no choice but to return it.

I bought this headphone las year , it has got a great NC(doesn't make any noticeable change in the music) , and its very comfortable for a heavy headphone.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Works great...but beware the cord

I bought them over 6 months ago and have used them a bunch of times. They work great. The noise canceling works great on airplanes and even without the NC turned on, the sound comes through really clear. The only thing that I'm unhappy about is the cord that goes from the headset to the device (my iPhone). My kids lost the cord and it isn't a cord you can buy anywhere except from Harman Kardon. I wish it was a universal cord you could replace at any super store.
