Comfortable, Portable, and quiet
on January 3, 2014

These headphones produce an amazing sound. it is quite different from your run-of-the-mill over-ear headphones and certainly different from any ear buds you've ever used. The sort of surround-sound effect that a lot of artists record with these days is amplified by the quality of these headphones. They are also very comfortable. the one thing I was most worried about in purchasing some new over-ear headphones was my ears getting too warm and uncomfortable, but I have yet to have that experience with these headphones. They do have quite a bit of plastic at a few of the joints, but they are very solidly built and most areas appear to be reinforced with some sort of metal. The cord is a bit heavy and does not detach, but is certainly long enough to move around any sort of studio without any trouble. I use them at my local college radio station and they are excellent! For the price, I don't think they can be beat.

Legendary sound, but only a 90 day warranty
on July 19, 2015

Brilliant sound. Despite its old design, the clarity and detail of these headphones never ceases to amaze me. The materials and workmanship are very good, they are lightweight and very comfortable, with soft but durable ear pads. They fold and are easily carried. About the only drawback is the long and slightly unwieldy coiled cord, which is not replaceable. The deal breaker is the ridiculously short 90 day warranty from Sony. After about 7 months of careful use at moderate volumes, the left earpiece has a pronounced and annoying rattle and distortion from some low frequency music, so looking for a replacement and I cannot recommend them. In comparison, at least two major headphone makers feature a 2 year warranty, so caveat emptor!

Very Nice Headphone

It is very comfortable to wear, even after watching a movie for 2 1/2 hours, my ears does not feel uncomfortable. It is a perfect size for me. The sound quality is good, however, I don't know if it is my connector, but when I test it by turning the volume off, I could hear some buzzing sound. Or went the volume gets too high, there are cracking sound. It is more likely my system and not the Sony's headphone that's the cause. But I don't know much about sound equipment and setup. So I can't give a great review since I am lacking in knowledge regarding sound equipment so my opinion would be amateurish at best. However, it is hard to beat the price for a good headphone like this.

Fantastic For Production or Play
on July 22, 2014

I have used these for almost a full year. I got these headphones on sale after my previous pair of headphones stopped working. Almost immediately after I put these headphones on I noticed an impressive difference. I was able to do more in-depth audio work because of the quality. The cord has never tangled and these headphones still look as if they just came out of the box! When I am just listening to music (especially EDM) it's just ear candy.
If you are a producer/audio engineer and need a decent set of headphones without breaking the bank, these are a good choice!

Great sound, quality not there anymore

They died after the warranty expired. The previous 7506's I owned lasted over 12 years. It's shame because these were my gold standard as far as headphones. They weren't fakes because I bought them from a retail store and I did all the research to know how to spot fakes. I had to switch to another brand because I can't trust Sony anymore

This is the 2nd set of these I've had (the other pair evolved legs). Good, solid cans. They're accurate, lightweight, and comfy as hell!! I've used and seen them used for years by many professional touring audio engineers. And...no you can't borrow them; go get your own, you won't regret it.
I would recommend this to a friend!
