Great sound, noise canceling a huge plus

Bought these a few weeks ago, the sound does not disappoint and the noise canceling is a really nice feature that enhances the listening experience. Much better value for equal or better performance than some higher priced options out there.

I bought these online after reading several positive reviews of the Polk Audio 6000i model. I also looked at reviews of other high end headphones as well. Hoping and expecting the most from Polk Audio. But mostly anticipating what I would find out when finally receiving them.
I have been using the Bose IE2 headphones for the past couple of years. Never really happy with the fit. Especially when running and biking. Even though there are other sizing earbuds. They just never fit correctly. Also wasn't terribly impressed by the sound quality either. It was just a doable relationship that I ended up settling with.
I must say the change has been a big leap forward for me! The 6000i models sound is impressive! The sound is HUGE for such a small piece of technology. I now experience a quality full and deep range of music sound now. The hand control also allows you to widen up the range, or minimize it by the switch, 0 to -10. Also the most noticeable is the bass. It is absolutely impressive, really!! It may surprise many people who buy this model. It may even be too much bass for some? I happen to appreciate the capability of the low end. I mostly listen to electronic alternative music. And this headset captures unbelievable bass!
There is a wide range of options of ear pieces to fit exactly what your need is. The out of the box mediums worked perfect for me. Also and importantly the 6000i have the noise cancelling mode. I would give it a 6 out of 10. It does drown out some of the noise, but I would go with over the ear headphones, like the ultra focus series. If that is what your looking for. There is also a music mute button. That will allow you to cut off the sound of music if someone is talking to you. When hitting this button it switches over for sounds to be amplified. So you will not miss out on sounds or discussions while having your earpieces in. For a small little unit, and I envision me traveling in airports and planes with this. This noise cancellation capability should be fine for me.
Lastly it does have a separate control for phone usage located close to your mouth. I haven't figured it out exactly yet. For some reason when hanging up. Google voice pops up on my phone? But there are only three buttons to push. The middle is to dial or hang up. The other two should be for increasing or decreasing the volume.
Overall I'm very happy with my purchase. They are a advanced quality headphones with amazing sound quality! I've use them with my ipod, computer, and phone. I would highly recommend the 6000i model......

Fantastic set of headphones. I had to use another set of head phones after using these and I kept thinking there was something wrong with the audio and changing the controls. I put these back in and the problem was cured. Just amazing.

Design: Very high quality controller, intuitive flat cable, tangle free design. My complaint is the on and off button is stiff and the slider button design, it takes some work. This earphone only works in Active mode and does not have volume control
Noise Isolation: With the right sized ear tip, this earphone isolates very good. I tried the various tips that came with the earphones, but ultimately used my comply foam tips. Once the tips expanded inside the ear, all sound was noticeable quieted. Of note, these came with a lot of ear tips to try.
Noise Cancellation: There is a white noise hiss when turned on. The NC worked much better than the 8000s in reducing the sound of constant noises. I used these at work, in meetings, driving, and at home.
There is a button that gives you an option to mute the music and listen to whoever is speaking to you. It does its job as intended. However, I must point something out. When you engage this button, it amplifies the surrounding sound, which makes the sound louder than it actually is; so when you turn this button off, it gives you a false sense that the NC is working extremely well. I tried this every day at work, especially in meetings.
Sound: I have zero complaints on the sound. Everything from highs, mids, to lows blended very well. I listened to music from all genre’s which range from classical to rock.
Conclusion: I wore these earphones about 4 - 5 hours a day, every day at work, on 3 hour roadr trips, and home. Near the end of week two, the batteries finally gave up. If this headset had a volume control and worked in Passive mode, it would have been even better. I highly recommend these for travel and work settings.

Tangle free design makes it easy to store these in your bag and just go, they deliver great sound in a small package and are very well constructed. I use these all the time while im walking or at the coffee shop

These are not for the faint of heart... these are for people who want to experience all the music in their Droid, I-whatever etc... You will hear music that you did not know was there!!! You will hear ALL the music that was recorded. You will hear the music the way it was intended to be heard... These are not your kids buds!!

These Polks are well balanced with substantial bass and treble even at low volume. I bought some foam tips and now these headphones are very comfortable and sound even better.
