First time buying and installing an Epson printer. I have always read good reviews about Epson printers and when my 4 year old printer suffered a non-recoverable error, I decided to buy a WF-2540 because it had all the features I needed in a home office printer. Installation went very smooth with no problems except for me missing a piece of packing tape inside the printer-clearly my fault. I was able to get the printer on my wireless network without a hitch. First printing, I could tell immediately that this printer had much higher print resolution than my old printer. The ink is quite a bit less expensive than the old printer's ink as well by about $15 less for three cartridges. I would highly recommend Epson printers to everyone!

This is the hardest printer I have ever tried to set up.
Finally had to ask for help.
Should have resisted stronger with my life wife about purchasing an Epson all in one just so she could have a fax she will use maybe twice YEAR.

Much better than expected

I had an Epson printer about 20 years ago and did not like it. Being in the market for a new printer, I researched and decided, since the item was on sale and had high marks, to try this one. So far I have been very pleased, particularly with the speed of printing and quality of the print. The ink cartridges also seem to be reasonably priced.
I would recommend this to a friend!

It feels so good to finally write a good review on ANY piece of computer-related equipment! I have used them all - from DEC(1976) to HP to Acer to Toshiba and back again - 4-in-ones(one that I used for a boat anchor after owning it a grand total of 3 months), stand-alone printers, you name it! I have never had a piece of equipment set up and do EXACTLY what it was supposed to - the first time, without having to buy another piece, or download some patch, or wait on hold... we all know the story. This one did it! And, if you follow the instructions, yours will too.
Flawless, fast print-outs.
Smooth, quiet operation.
Intuitive, logical instructions and display panel.
Lightweight, yet rugged.

I was able to do this on my own. It took a while and I still have to get fax working. However, instructions were good both hard copy and on-line.

WF-2540 all-in-one

It has all the features I like in a printer. But it is very slow when scanning pictures or scanning documents for faxing. My time is very limited, therefore I need fast machines. Other than that, it prints, sends and receiveds very well.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
