Works - sort of

It does seem to do everything it purports, just be aware:
--scanning wirelessly is not what you are used to with other all in ones. It doesn't seem to communicate when the last scanned page is finished, and you will have to clear error messages from your computer and your printer. Though it continues to attempt to feed pages in for 17-23 seconds after finishing, when using a flash drive, it will eventually stop the feeder and not give you an error message.
--printing wirelessly from your IPad or IPhone is not as trouble free as you may have experienced in the past. You may have to attempt 2-3 times for it to take.
--but, once you get past the missed commands and error messages, it does a good job.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

when i print its strikes through out my paper i did the maintenance nozzle check and head cleaning and head alignment multple time and still haven't fixed issues

Doesn't print 2-sided!!!

Great printer. Wish I had read the box better. It doesn't do 2-sided printing at all. How ridiculous that is does everything but that. Very annoying. If I hadn't been sick from chemo treatments when I purchased it, I would have returned it! Seriously, it self-feeds and doesn't double side print at all??? It would only take a bit of programming to make it work. My ten year old printer could do it.

Scanning from WF-2540

I have been using this all-in-one for several months and like it all except for one thing...I have been unable to scan to the PC. I have tried doing it from the printer screen and the PC, but it acts as though it can't see the printer even though I can print things. I even reloaded the software several times.
I would recommend this to a friend!

During the year I used this printer it regularly clogged and underperformed. Then it stopped working altogether. I am now using an Epson 7510 which is, to this point, working flawlessly.

Ink usage

While I love the printing this printer does I resent that when black is needed the printer does not always use the black ink. I am constantly having to set use black/grayscale for each page I print to avoid the use of color ink. I wish the software made black the automatic and color a selection in preferences. I find as it stands I have to replace my color inks more often than the black which is funny since I seldom print color items.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not overjoyed...

I've had printing problems with the WF-2540. And while they may stem from using 'non-Epson' ink cartridges, I've successfully run Epson printers for 20 years using non-Epson cartridges, e.g. refills & recycled ink cartridges.
After replacing the cartridges several times, I'm finally getting good quality printing from the WF-2540.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
